LAS CRUCES, NM — Wireless calling, text messaging and surfing the Web on the Verizon Wireless high-speed 3G network is now easier and faster in Las Cruces, NM thanks to a new cell site added in the second quarter.  The site expands 3G wireless coverage and capacity to the Las Cruces International Airport and along Interstate 10 west of the airport.

The company’s ongoing network investment in New Mexico and El Paso, Texas now totals more than $375 million, including $70 million in 2010.  Since the company was formed, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $65 billion – $6 billion on average every year – to increase the coverage and capacity of its premier nationwide network and to add new services.

On July 21, Verizon Wireless turned on the world’s most advanced wireless network in 28 additional markets, bringing the blazingly fast speed of 4G LTE to a total of 102 cities across the country.  The company has committed to launch the 4G LTE network in Las Cruces in 2011.
