Albuquerque, NM — Wireless calling, text messaging and surfing the Web on the Verizon Wireless high-speed 3G network is now easier and faster in McKinley County, NM thanks to a new cell site added in the second quarter. The site expands 3G wireless coverage and capacity west of Gallup, NM along State Route 264 between Yah-Ta-Hey, NM and Window Rock, Ariz.
The company’s ongoing network investment in New Mexico and El Paso, Texas now totals more than $375 million, including $70 million in 2010. Since the company was formed, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $65 billion – $6 billion on average every year – to increase the coverage and capacity of its premier nationwide network and to add new services.
