BELLEVUE, WA — Wireless calling, text messaging and surfing the Web on the Verizon Wireless high-speed 3G network is now easier and faster for residents, businesses and visitors in Maple Valley thanks to a new cell site. The site expands 3G wireless coverage and capacity in this area of southeast King County.

The company’s ongoing network investment in Washington now totals more than $1.21 billion, including $114 million in 2010. Since the company was formed, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $65 billion – $6 billion on average every year – to increase the coverage and capacity of its premier nationwide network and to add new services.

In addition to ongoing investment in its 3G network, Verizon Wireless continues to roll out its 4G LTE network nationwide. The 4G LTE network is currently available in more than 160 cities, including Seattle, Auburn, Kent, Tacoma, Everett, Bellevue, Olympia, Spokane and Portland-Vancouver. Full nationwide 4G LTE deployment is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2013.

“We’ve always believed even the most advanced device is only as good as the network it runs on. We continue to aggressively invest in our Pacific Northwest network to increase coverage and capacity for our smartphone, tablet and mobile broadband customers, add new services like 4G LTE, and maintain our existing 3G network leadership,” said Bobby Morrison, regional president for Verizon Wireless in the Pacific Northwest.
