NAPLES, FL — Verizon Wireless announced today that the company will launch its most advanced 4G LTE high-speed network in numerous Naples area communities on Thursday, March 15.

The initial rollout of 4G LTE (Fourth Generation/Long-Term Evolution) here will cover Four Seasons, Isles of Capri, Lely, Marco Island, Naples, Naples Park, Pine Ridge and Vineyards.

4G LTE technology is fast: up to 10 times faster than the company’s industry-leading 3G network. In real-world, fully loaded network environments, 4G LTE users in Naples should experience data rates of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink.

The 4G LTE network allows local tech lovers to stream videos with no buffering, or download and view full-length HD movies. Music fans can download songs in seconds, video-gamers can take part in multiplayer online action, and social media mavens can upload photos and posts – all while on-the-go. Southwest Florida businesses can also use the power and speed of 4G LTE to boost their bottom line.

Local customers now will be able to take full advantage of the dozens of Verizon Wireless 4G LTE-capable tablets, smartphones and other wireless devices. These include the Motorola Xyboard, Samsung Galaxy Tab, DROID Razr, Galaxy Nexus and many more.

“With the 4G LTE network and all these advanced devices, Naples area residents and businesses now will have a tremendous amount of wireless speed and power at their fingertips,” said Pam Tope, Florida region president for Verizon Wireless. “Our 4G LTE network is growing fast as consumers here and across the nation crave the latest and the greatest technologies.”

Naples will join 14 additional Florida markets, and more than 75 percent of the state’s population, that currently have access to Verizon Wireless 4G LTE services. Nationally, the service is already available in more than 200 markets, covering more than 200 million people.

For more information, or to see 4G LTE in action, residents can visit local Verizon Wireless retail stores at 2275 Pine Ridge Road and 36 Ninth St South in Naples or 23200 Via Villagio in Estero. More details also are available at www.verizonwireless.com.
