CHANDLER, AZ — Verizon Wireless has named Andrés Irlando president of its Southwest Region, replacing Brian Danfield who has been named vice president, sales operations in the company’s national headquarters in Basking Ridge, NJ.

As regional president, Irlando is based in Chandler, Ariz. and is responsible for the company’s sales, operations, financial performance and customer experience in Arizona, New Mexico, Las Vegas, Nevada, El Paso, Texas and the southern Utah markets of St. George and Cedar City.

“Andrés’ depth and breadth of experience and his track record of success in multiple senior leadership positions makes him the right person to lead the region,” said Greg Haller, Verizon Wireless West Area President.

Most recently, Irlando served as vice president–West Area customer service for Verizon Wireless, responsible for customer service operations in the western United States, an area spanning 13 states and El Paso, Texas.

Prior to his role in customer service, Irlando served as president–New York Region for Verizon Communications, responsible for the company’s corporate interests in New York and Connecticut.

Irlando joined Verizon Communications in 2005 as director–Pacific Region, responsible for government, regulatory, and external affairs and philanthropy in California, Arizona, and Nevada.

Irlando earned a doctor of jurisprudence from Stanford Law School and a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College.
