MINOT, ND — To better serve area consumers, Verizon Wireless will open its first company-owned store on Thursday, July 19 at 3908 S. Broadway, Suite C, in Minot.  The store will be one of the first in the country with the company’s new Evolution 2.0 store design which features an open, inviting floor plan that connects the service center and sales floor to offer added device experience and support for customers.

The company has filled seven new positions at the store, according to Tony Staab, retail sales manager for Verizon Wireless in Minot.  “We still have four retail sales representative positions available for qualified applicants interested in a technology career with Verizon,” said Staab.  Applicants should have customer facing sales experience with a two year degree preferred.  To apply for positions and get information on Verizon’s total rewards applicants should visit www.verizonwireless.com/careers.

The new 3,038-square-foot store offers consumers an open, inviting and interactive environment. Customers can enjoy a hands-on experience with the latest 4G LTE smartphones, tablets, unique smart accessories such as the MOTOACTV GPS fitness tracker, mobile jetpacks, and much more. In addition to instruction and device setup by Verizon Wireless representatives, consumers can participate in free in-store Wireless Workshops to learn how to maximize the potential of their wireless devices.

Staab has worked for Verizon for four years; most recently as an assistant retail store float manager in South Dakota while preparing to open the Minot location. The following employees have been named to positions in the Minot store:  Justin Dunn and Kelly Johns, assistant retail store managers; and Andy Hannawell, Nicki Messamer, Brock Schlosser and John Swier as retail store representatives.

The store hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. –8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. –7 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. The official ribbon-cutting will be Aug. 1 with the Minot Chamber of Commerce and a grand-opening weekend will be held Aug. 3-5.  For more information about the store, call 701-839-9498
