ALPHARETTA, GA — Verizon Wireless customers will be able to experience the speed and capabilities offered by its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network when it is introduced in Waycross, GA in coming weeks, the company announced today. 

The new market launch in Waycross will provide customers access to the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network to locally surf the Web, stream music and video, quickly access over-the-air applications, and stay in touch with family and friends at speeds up to 10 times faster than before.  Verizon Wireless currently covers more than 230 million people in 337 markets across the United States with the nation’s largest 4G LTE network.           

When Verizon Wireless 4G LTE launches in Waycross, customers who visit or live in commercial and residential areas in the towns of Waycross, Douglas, Blackshear, Nahunta, Hoboken and Manor, as well as along U.S. Highway 82 from Nahunta to Manor, along U.S. Highway 84 from Blackshear to Sappville and along U.S. Highway 1 from Racepond to Dixie Union will have access to the nation’s fastest 4G network.

In real-world, fully loaded network environments, Verizon Wireless 4G LTE customers should experience average data rates of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink.
