BROOKFIELD, WI — Verizon Wireless is rolling out its latest Evolution store design in Brookfield, Wis.  This new location offers an inviting new store layout to better showcase the latest devices, accessories and more, to help provide customers with the best hands-on experience in wireless.  It is the first of its kind in the state of Wisconsin, the third in the nation.

To mark the opening of this new location and underscore its commitment to the community, Verizon Wireless will present a $5,000 financial grant to The Women’s Center, Inc. Founded in 1977, The Women’s Center is a Waukesha-based independent, non-profit safety, shelter and support organization offering free services designed to address the issues of domestic violence, sexual assault and abuse.

“Based on feedback from customers and employees, the Evolution store is designed to be ever-adaptable, continuing to change as new technologies and innovative products are introduced,” said T.J Fox, region president, Verizon Wireless.  “Customers don’t always know what they are looking for when they enter a store, or what technology is available to them.  Our new layout allows customers to discover and explore their options by inviting them to spend time discovering the products and services that best fit their needs.”

Verizon Wireless asks customers visiting the store to donate their no-longer-used wireless phones to Verizon’s HopeLine® program.  HopeLine from Verizon puts the nation’s most reliable wireless network to work in the community by collecting wireless phones, batteries and accessories in any condition from any wireless service provider.  Verizon Wireless and the HopeLine program distribute wireless phones and airtime to victims of domestic violence and provide cash grants to local shelters and non-profit organizations that focus on domestic violence prevention, awareness and advocacy. Phones that cannot be refurbished are recycled in an environmentally sound way under a zero-landfill policy.

Verizon Wireless’ National Commitment
Since 2001, HopeLine has collected more than 9 million phones; awarded more than $14.2 million in cash grants to prevention and awareness programs nationwide; and donated more than 123,000 HopeLine phones with 406 million minutes of airtime to victims, survivors and domestic violence organizations. In 2011 in Wisconsin, more than 13,000 phones were collected and more than $75,000 in cash grants were awarded.  The company is committed to ending domestic violence and supporting victims of this silent epidemic.
