As excitement over the approaching Christmas Day builds, children of all ages are preparing for the arrival of Santa Claus and his eight reindeer by making their Christmas wish lists and mulling over what kinds of cookies to leave out for the big man.

This year, thanks to advances in technology, parents have a multitude of ways to help their children contact Father Christmas. With the help of the following apps and websites, kids can rest easy knowing Santa received their wish lists and that his reindeer are flying him around right on schedule.

There’s still time to write Santa. With the Letters to Santa app, parents can give their children a direct line to Santa. After writing a letter, children will receive a letter back within an hour. Those looking for a video message from Santa Claus can visit Portable North Pole. Parents can simply fill out a few facts, and in no time a personalized video is created. More than 700,000 children have already received a video.

When Christmas Eve finally arrives, there are a few apps to help keep track of Santa as he makes his trip around the globe. The Santa Tracker by Onteca app counts down the days until Santa’s arrival and includes photos of Santa sightings around the world.

So with the big day quickly approaching check out these apps to bring a little holiday cheer to the search for Santa.
