The NHL lockout lasted 113 days and canceled a total of 625 regular season games. But the skates are sharpened and a fresh sheet of ice is laid, hockey is back. Fans eager for the season to start can follow all the action on the Verizon NHL GameCenter app.

Hockey season is set to begin on Jan. 19th with 13 games on the schedule for the first day alone. Fans using Verizon Wireless 4G LTE smartphones or tablets get exclusive content with the NHL GameCenter app, like live streaming of nationally broadcast games on NBC.

The app creates a second screen experience when watching games on TV. Hockey enthusiasts can watch game highlights on their device to replay a great goal or quick glove save whenever they want. They can also keep track of what’s happening around the league using live game simulation with real-time shift changes, box scores and play by play.

Users on 4G LTE smartphones and tablets will get free access to the premium app which includes NHL Plays of the Week, live streaming of the NHL Network’s NHL on the Fly, live game audio and more.

When fans miss the live game, they can watch a condensed version of their team’s game along with postgame video highlights and recaps.
