At first glance, the idea of accepting mobile payments might seem a bit daunting to a small business owner, who may think that it could be complicated or expensive.
But, adding a mobile payment option for customers on a secure wireless network can improve the customer experience and could lead to a boost in revenue.
Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal manufacturers, such as PAX, provide a variety of secure mobile payment options for small businesses. Choosing the right one is important to ensure the business feels comfortable using the technology and knows payments are secure.
PAX offers its mobile S90 payment terminal, processing payments using the Verizon Wireless network. PAX’s S90 mobile payment terminal allows easy payment processing on a PCI- secured and EMV-ready device for credit, debit and additional card swipe options.
As an example, a pizza delivery restaurant was losing money from chargebacks and paying too much for interexchange rates from credit card transactions being taken over the phone. With the introduction of the PAX S90 for all of their drivers, the owner said fees were eliminated, saving this small business thousands of dollars a month. He also said his drivers saw an uptick in tips from customers happy to have the option to pay with a credit or debit card at their home.
