It’s March, which means it’s all about college basketball until April 8 for sports fans around the country.

Last year’s tournament was nicknamed “March multi-screen madness” by comScore, as more than 20 percent of the tournament games were viewed on a smartphone or tablet. This year, mobile technology will continue to be an essential tool for tournament time. Luckily there are several apps dedicated to college basketball to help with everything from creating brackets and accessing game highlights to winning a trip to 2014’s championship weekend.

Sporting News NCAA Basketball gives fans access to news, scores, videos, standings and other information. The app offers customization to select favorite teams and conferences and sends notifications for real-time news.

To manage a bracket, there’s ESPN Bracket Bound 2013. The app allows you to follow ESPN coverage and game highlights, fill your brackets with ESPN Tournament Challenge (brackets in real-time) and compete against ESPN celebrities and analysts to see how your brackets can beat the experts.

Not into brackets but still want the latest scores and news? The College Basketball Scoreboard app provides up-to-the-minute scores, schedules and stories from the tournament. Customize the score feeds by conference to keep up with important games while keeping an eye on the other match ups.

So, let the madness begin. You won’t run afoul with these great apps.
