You’re going to Coachella. You’ve got your tickets, the hotel is booked, and now all you need is a little preparation to make the most of hundreds of concerts and three days in the desert.

Last year’s Coachella was one for the record books. Not only was it the first time it rained, but it also registered the coldest (43° F) and hottest (107° F) temperatures in the festival’s history. This year, make sure you’re prepared for whatever Mother Nature has in store by checking the weather before you pack using The Weather Channel or WeatherBug apps.

With more than 600,000 people expected to attend, and thousands of cars, travel can be a challenge. Take the best route to the festival using Google Maps or VZ Navigator to get audible turn-by-turn directions. But what about remembering exactly where you parked in one of the 15 parking lots at the massive venue? There’s an app that can help you find it. Don’t leave home without the Where is my car? app.

Now that you have the logistics covered, it’s time to turn your attention to the show. During the three day event, your smartphone is the best way to stay connected. Twitter and Instagram allow you to capture and share your experience. Last year, more than 100,000 images tagged #coachella were uploaded by Instagram users. Use Panorama 360 to take amazing 360° photos and post to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

With more than 175 bands performing, you’re sure to hear a few songs you want to remember. Instantly identify and download your favorite new songs with Shazam, and when you and your crew head home, set up your Jawbone JAMBOX Bluetooth speaker to relive the day and listen to your favorite songs.

To keep you and thousands of your closest friends connected for your weekend, Verizon Wireless has rolled out two mobile cell sites on wheels to add extra coverage and capacity for the occasion. Happy Coachella 2013!
