Summer is almost here, and the season isn’t complete without a visit to at least one of the many national parks.
The National Park System includes more than 400 designated areas. The western United States is rich in parks with California and Alaska boasting the most at eight each, followed by Utah with five and Colorado with four. The first-ever national park, Yellowstone, was signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant in 1872 after an act of Congress.
Before beginning your trip, visit the National Park Service website right from a smartphone or tablet to learn more about the parks and plan your upcoming adventure. But when it comes time for hiking, biking, camping and taking in the wildlife and magnificent scenery, mobile technology can help you get much more from your experience through a variety of apps, accessories and devices.
Keep your device safe and dry from an unfortunate drop in the lake using a LifeProof Waterproof Case, and protect it from scratches as you climb the rocky terrain with the Belkin Grip Max Case. You can also stay fully charged no matter how long you stay with a battery-only charger.
Each month throughout the summer, we’ll explore a few of the many national parks from the Great Smoky Mountains to Yosemite. Stay tuned for tips, tricks and recommendations for apps like the National Parks app by National Geographic or the Oh Ranger! ParkFinder app, which provides interactive guides to the parks available on smartphones and tablets, as well as accessories that can act as your personal technology tour guide as you set out to explore.
Enjoy a season of outdoor exploration. It’s sure to be much more than just a walk in the park.
