As summer turns to fall, it’s the perfect ending to our series on National Parks. What better way to wrap than to feature the exotic and extreme parks of Alaska and Hawaii?
Denali National Park in Alaska is home to Mount McKinley - the tallest peak in North America – earning the nickname, “High One.” Denali boasts six million acres of land providing incredibly diverse wildlife sightings and epic landscapes. Keep track of every mile and never get lost as you trek through this wondrous park with the LIFEPROOF Armband.
Also in Alaska is Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, just west of Juneau. The park contains more than three million acres of varied terrain highlighted by jagged mountains and coastlines. It‘s also a World Heritage Site, making it one of the largest internationally-protected areas. Take photos or shoot video by the summer’s midnight sun while experiencing the natural beauty. An App such as Adobe Photoshop Express lets you edit images quickly and easily right on your mobile device.
In our 50th state is Haleakalā National Park on the island of Maui that brings the heat with its volcanic landscape. In addition to a dormant volcano, the park is full of Hawaiian culture, exotic plants and wildlife. Here you can be embraced by trade breezes in the coastal areas of the Kīpahulu district or take in breathtakingly clear night sky views at the summit area of the Haleakalā volcano.
Our series may be coming to an end, but your outdoor exploration is just beginning. Browse through America’s National Parks app on your wireless device for inspiration on your next American adventure.
