While this time of year is considered by many to be “the most wonderful,” for some it can also be the most stressful when it comes to buying the perfect gift and staying on budget.

In fact, according to the “Verizon Mobile Trends Index” survey conducted by TNS in September 2013 among 2,500 adults representative of the U.S. household population over 18 years of age, more than 55 percent said that they plan to spend $49.99 or less on mobile holiday gifts.

If you’re trying to keep your holiday spending in check, Verizon Wireless’ lifestyle zones offer a variety of priced-right tech for just about everyone on your holiday gift giving list:

  • Yurbuds Inspire Talk Sport Universal Headset ($39.99): Perfect for the fitness buff on your holiday list, the Yurbuds Inspire Talk Sport earphones provide users with exceptional audio clarity during workouts or casual use. Equipped with 15mm speakers, the headset can deliver audio clarity at any volume. Twistlock technology ensures earphones won't fall out even during the most rigorous workouts. Sweat and water resistant earbuds ensure Inspire earphones are designed for active users. A microphone with one-button control also allows users to answer calls on the go.
  • Moga Ace Power Controller ($79.99): A great gift for gamers, the Moga Ace Power Controller is a compact, easily portable gaming controller that gives users a full-feature, console-style controller for mobile gaming. It features ergonomic grips, action buttons, D-pad, shoulder triggers and shoulder buttons. The MOGA Arm securely holds smart phones in place to allow users to play when they’re on the go.
  • Belkin WeMo Switch ($49.99): The home techie on your shopping list can control home energy costs all year long with the Belkin WeMo Switch. The device plugs into a wall outlet so they can control home electronics from their mobile device. Once users download the app, they can use the WeMo switch to turn lights, fans and other appliances on and off. Simply plug the WeMo Switch into an outlet, then plug a device or appliance into the WeMo Switch. Once the switch is connected to their home Wi-Fi network they can use their mobile device as a remote control.
  • Monster Mobile PowerCard ($39.99): The frequent traveler on the list can constantly stay connected with the Monster Mobile PowerCard.  This credit-card-sized portable battery provides quick and easy charging on the go.  The device features a 1650 mAh Lithium-ion battery, micro USB for universal charging and can charge one full smartphone.
  • Ravensburger Augmented Reality Puzzle: Animals of Africa ($19.99): This isn’t just any old puzzle. Ravensburger puzzles use augmented reality through a compatible mobile device to place the puzzle maker in the scene they just created. The 1,000-piece Animals of Africa puzzle depicts a bustling scene of elephants, giraffes, zebras and other animals gathering at a watering hole. Once the puzzle is complete, use the camera on a mobile device and the related app to bring the safari to life, watching video animation of the migrating creatures and hearing their sounds.

Consider these and other affordable tech gadgets for everyone on your holiday shopping and skip the old standbys like ties or socks.

The Verizon Wireless “’Tis the Season for Tech Gifts” series provides holiday gift suggestions for everyone on your list this year.
