For some people, saving a few dollars a month is a New Year’s resolution that is important to keep. But saving money shouldn’t mean the only choices for wireless phones are basic phones. The Moto G is an option for those looking to save while still rocking a stylish and feature-filled smartphone.

Available online from Verizon Wireless beginning on Jan. 9 and in stores in the coming weeks, the Moto G helps create an affordable package with its $99.99 price and wallet-friendly prepaid plan options that start at $60 per month for unlimited talk, unlimited text and 2 GB of data. Users can upgrade to 4 GB of data for an additional $10 per month.

Having a smartphone like the Moto G can lead to additional savings when apps like Groupon and LivingSocial are used to save on restaurants, gym memberships, events and more. Smartphones can also act as tools to help you stay on top of expenses and budgets; the app Money Manager Expense & Budget helps with that by recording deposits and withdrawals and showing budgets and expenses through graphs.

The Moto G comes with a 4.5-inch HD display, 5-megapixel camera and the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor so users get the full smartphone experience while saving every month. Additionally, users get 50 GB of Google Drive storage for two years, as long as the offer is redeemed within 30 days of activation. The Moto G will launch with Android 4.3 and will be upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat in the near future.
