Living in a culture that’s on 24/7 puts unprecedented demands on our time. I find being plugged into what I call my “around-the-clock apps” help to make every minute count – from chipping away at my daily punch list to carving out a little me-time.

AccuWeather – Kick-starting my day begins with checking my go-to weather app. Staying in the know on current conditions and severe weather alerts has proved invaluable, especially when living in a city where it’s 60 degrees one day and snowy and in the single digits the next!

Waze – Washington, D.C., consistently ranks among the worst traffic cities in the nation. In fact, the average commuter spent a whopping 67 hours stuck in traffic in 2012, The Washington Post reported. Getting the best route with real-time help from other drivers not only helps cuts my commuting hours around the Washington, D.C., metro area but also helps get me to my morning latte without delay.

My Fitness Pal – Be it yoga, Zumba or Pilates, we all need some physical activity to recharge our batteries. My Fitness Pal is a personal favorite app where I can easily track my activity and get information to improve nutrition, fitness and overall health.

Style.com – I am a fashionista at heart, so having unlimited, on-the-go access to haute couture coverage from New York, London, Milan and Paris provides loads of inspirational fashion trends and certainly comes in hand whenever I’m in need of a little retail therapy.

Rotten Tomatoes and GoodReads – A great movie or a good book at the end of a long day is part of my downtime mix. For fresh movie picks, I turn to Rotten Tomatoes via the Movies by Flixster app, and GoodReads helps when I’m looking for a page-turner that won’t disappoint.
