Eduardo Ayala is one of the millions of Latino students who graduated from high school last year, helping the U.S. achieve all-time high graduation rates. Ayala also received a scholarship through the Alianza U Presented by Verizon essay contest for his dedication to education, soccer and technology.

Alianza U helps bridge the gap between high school graduation and college admission by providing information and resources that help students understand the college process. High school students can enter the Alianza U Presented by Verizon essay contest for a chance to win one of two $10,000 college scholarships by explaining how soccer and technology can help them achieve their academic goals.

With the help of legendary soccer stars including Rafael Marquez, Jorge Campos and Claudio Suarez among others, Alianza U offers students access to exclusive online and onsite resources that simplify college recruitment, application requirements, financial aid and scholarship information.

Now through September, Verizon will host free Alianza U College Forums in – New York, Denver, Atlanta, Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and El Paso – to support the development of amateur soccer and education in the Latino community.
