Verizon Wireless has employees whose sole mission is to drive thousands of miles a month in major cities and rural areas across the company’s national footprint. It’s one key element in the company’s comprehensive network quality assurance program.

These baseline engineers use equipment that pinpoints where network performance needs to be enhanced to maintain reliable service for the surging number of customers texting, tweeting, sharing videos and photos, and surfing the Web on their smartphones and other wireless devices.
