The Verizon Foundation recently presented a $20,000  grant to STOP Domestic Violence in Plattsburgh NY to fund the agency’s “Stand By Me” program. The program promotes support for victims of domestic violence, helps deter perpetrators through peer responsibility, and promotes healthy relationships.

Using video and written materials, “Stand By Me” staff, with assistance from student interns, will travel to rural schools in the Plattsburgh area to provide interactive group programs in the classroom.

The grant is part of the Verizon Foundation’s ongoing efforts to support survivors of domestic violence.
