With the 2015 football season underway, we caught up with New Orleans Saints Quarterback Drew Brees to find out what apps help him manage his life, his music and find inspiration. A graduate of Purdue University, Brees played in San Diego for four years before playing for the Saints. . He and his wife have also founded the Brees Dream Foundation to help improve the quality of life for cancer patients.

From exercise to surfing to daily inspiration, Brees’ #musthaveapps have him covered on and off the gridiron:

  • Misfit: This app connects to my Misfit Shine, an activity tracker. It provides me with statistics on my daily fitness activity and sleep cycle.

  • Surfline: I do not catch the waves as often as I did when I lived in San Diego but when I do, I use the Surfline app. It provides me with video footage and information about my favorite surf breaks. With Surfline to Go, I can view surf views in HD and get five-day forecasts.

  • Slacker Radio: I listen to Slacker Radio all of the time. It gives me access to my favorite genres of music at any moment. Especially the ‘80s.

  • Miles A Minute: I get my daily devotional and biblical teaching from Miles McPherson every morning.  The app provides a 60-second devotional video each day.

The NFL Mobile app may likely top most football fans list but what are your favorite apps? Let us know on Twitter at @VerizonNews or @VZWSharon.

This is part of the Verizon Wireless “Must-Have Apps” series, which provides insights into the apps that people use every day to embrace the mobile lifestyle.
