Here’s a modern-day dilemma for parents of young kids…

You want a simple, fast way to stay in touch with your child – as they make their way home from school, or while they visit a friend's house, or during any number of everyday situations like those – but you don’t want to buy them their own smartphone just yet.

So, what do you do?

Well, if you’re looking for an easy way to stay connected to your little one, consider one of these Gizmo connected wearables from Verizon and LG.

A simple way for parents to stay in touch with their kids

With the GizmoGadget and GizmoPal 2 by LG, your child is within reach with the push of a button.

Using a Gizmo device, all your all your child has to do is press a button to make or answer a call from you or one of the small number of contacts you’ve pre-approved.

Then, they speak into the Gizmo device on their wrist and listen through its speaker, just like they would with a mobile phone. Can you think of any kid who wouldn’t find that incredibly cool?

There’s also an auto-answer feature you can set that will make the device automatically answer your call after 10 seconds even if your child doesn’t press the answer button. It’s another way these Gizmo devices keep things simple for parents.

Use the app to keep tabs on your child’s location

The GizmoHub app for Android and iOS lets you track your child’s location via GPS and use your smartphone to navigate to wherever they are. They get to have their independence while you're able to monitor their whereabouts.

Location Check, another feature you can control through the app, notifies you of your child’s location at a specific time each day. For example, you can set a reminder for when your child normally gets home from school and get a notification with your child’s location. That way, you can make sure they made it home while you’re busy at work or elsewhere.

A great option for kids still too young for a smartphone

GizmoPal wearables are designed for pre to middle school-aged children from ages 4 and up. They’re waterproof* and durable, built to withstand an active day at the park or the playground.

Not only will a Gizmo device let you and your child keep in touch, but each device also comes with extra features for kids to enjoy:

  • GizmoPal 2 can read the time aloud. And it makes fun sounds at the press of a button.
  • GizmoGadget has even more features, like a step counter that also counts jump-rope skips and fun pre-recorded voice messages that can be sent from the device. You can also send text messages back and forth with GizmoGadget.
So if your son or daughter is begging for a smartphone, but you’re not sure they’re ready for one just yet, a Gizmo device from Verizon might be the perfect compromise. It’s peace of mind with the push of a button.

Verizon Wireless customers can add a Gizmo device to their existing wireless accounts for an additional monthly access charge.

NOTE: Your child’s GizmoPal band needs to be turned on and have a wireless network signal. Locating the band can take up to 2 minutes. The location information provided is an approximate location of the GizmoPal band and results are not guaranteed.

GizmoPal and GizmoGadget are trademarks of Verizon Wireless.
