The IndyCar series, with title sponsor Verizon, has been a showcase of the ultimate in racing prowess for many years. To honor this prowess, Will Power and Juan Pablo Montoya are bringing their winning ways to this year’s ESPY awards, presented by ESPN and hosted by comedian Joel McHale. Both Verizon Team Penske drivers are nominated for the category of “Best Driver”: Power for his reign as the Verizon IndyCar champion and Montoya for his win at the 99th run at the Indianapolis 500 this May.

“I love the Verizon IndyCar Series and I think we have the best racing in the world. It’s important for us to have ESPN acknowledge our accomplishments,” said Montoya, driver of the number 2 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet, sharing his excitement about the nomination. “Hopefully we can make it three straight Verizon IndyCar Series winners for ‘Best Driver.’”

Head to the ESPY website now to support Verizon’s two IndyCar nominees. Voting is open until July 15th, with the awards airing that evening at 8 p.m. Be sure and tune in to find out if your favorite driver took the top spot!
