Add a Personal (POP/IMAP) Account - DROID by MOTOROLA

Note Server addresses, security information and additional support can be obtained from the email provider.

Add a POP email account

Add a POP email account

  1. From the home screen, select the applications tab (located on the bottom of the screen).

  2. Select Email.

First Email account

  1. Enter the POP email address and password.
    Email Address and Password
  2. Enter an account name and the outgoing message name then select Done.

  3. Select an option.
    Manual setup
    Enter the POP settings manually
    Next
    Attempts to automatically enter the POP settings
    Select Manual or next
  4. Select POP3 account.
    Note If Manual setup was selected or if the automatic setup fails, continue to step 4.
    Note If Next was selected and successful, skip to step 20.

  5. Enter the incoming POP3 server settings.
    • Username
    • Password
    • POP3 server
    • Port number

  6. Select the Security type dropdown.

  7. Select a security type.
    • None
    • SSL
    • SSL (Accept all certificates)
    • TLS
    • TLS (accept all certificates)

  8. Select the Delete email from Server dropdown.

  9. Select an option.
    • Never
    • When I delete from Inbox
    Select Delete email from server or never
  10. Select Next.

  11. Enter the Outgoing SMTP settings.

  12. Select the Security type dropdown.

  13. Select a security type.
    • None
    • SSL
    • SSL (Accept all certificates)
    • TLS
    • TLS (Accept all certificates)

  14. If desired, ensure Require sign-in is selected.

  15. Enter the SMTP information.
    • Username
    • Password
    SMTP username and password
  16. Select Next.

  17. Select the Email checking frequency dropdown.

  18. Select an email checking frequency.
    • Never
    • Every 5 minutes
    • Every 10 minutes
    • Every 15 minutes
    • Every 30 minutes
    • Every hour
    Select email check frequency
  19. If desired, ensure the account options are selected.
    • Send email from the account by default.
    • Notify me when email arrives.
