Initial Activation and Setup - DROID INCREDIBLE by HTC

  1. Drag the lock symbol to the bottom of the screen.

  2. Select the language (English) then select Next.

  3. Select Activate.

  4. Listen to the instructions, select the keypad icon (located in the lower-left) then select 1 when prompted.
    Note Remain on the line until activation confirmation is received.
    Note Allow several minutes for the device to power cycle.

  5. Drag the lock symbol to the bottom of the screen.

  6. Select the language (English) then select Next.

  7. Select Skip.

  8. Ensure Mobile network or Wi-Fi is selected then select Next.

  9. Select Connect to Wi-Fi network to disable (uncheck) the option then select Next.
    Note To setup Wi-Fi at a later time, refer to Set Up Wi-Fi Connection.

  10. Configure the following location settings then select Next:
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    • Allow Google's location service to collect anonymous location data. Collection occurs even when no apps are running.
    • Use My Location for Google search results and other Google services.

  11. If presented, select Agree.

  12. Select any of the following account types:
    Note To skip, select Skip then proceed to step 13. Set up accounts screen with available options
  13. If applicable, select an existing service (e.g. Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, etc), enter the appropriate credentials (e.g. email address, username, password, etc.) then select Sign in.
    Note If presented, review the Terms and Conditions, select I agree then select Next to continue service setup.
    Note Repeat this step as necessary to setup additional services.

  14. Select Finish.

Google account

  1. Select Next.

  2. Select one of the following: Add a Google Account with available setup options

 

Create Google Account

  1. Enter the following information then select Next.
    • First name
    • Last name
    • Username
  2. Enter a password, re-enter the password then select Next.
  3. Select Security question.
  4. Select the desired question.
  5. Enter an answer to the selected Security question.
  6. To enter a Secondary Email address, select Create.
  7. Review the Google Terms of Service then select I agree, Next.
  8. Enter the characters that are displayed in the Captcha picture then select Next.
  9. From the Set up accounts screen, select Next.
  10. Continue with initial setup.

Sign in to existing Google account

  1. Enter the appropriate information into the following fields then select Sign in (located in the lower-right).
    • Username
    • Password

  2. Select Finish setup.

  3. Select Next.

  4. Continue with initial setup.

Microsoft® Exchange ActiveSync®

  1. Enter the appropriate information into the following fields:
    • Email address
    • Password
  2. Select Next
  3. If presented, ensure the appropriate information is entered into the following fields:
    • Email address
    • Server address
    • Domain
    • Username
    • Password
    • This server requires an encrypted SSL connection
      Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  4. Select Next
  5. Configure the following data synchronization settings as desired:

    • Mail
    • Contacts
    • Calendar
  6. Select Next
  7. If prompted to enable security policies, select OK.
    1. Select Activate.
    2. Select Password.
    3. Enter the appropriate password then select Continue (located in the lower-right).
    4. Re-enter the password then select OK (located in the lower-right).
  8. From the Set up accounts screen, select Next.
  9. Continue with initial setup.

  1. Enter the appropriate information into the following fields then select Next:
    • Email address
    • Password
  2. If presented, ensure the appropriate information is entered into the following fields then select Next:
    • Protocol
      • POP
      • APOP
      • IMAP
    • Email address
    • Username
    • Password
    • POP server
    • Security type
      • None
      • SSL
      • TLS
    • Server port
  3. If presented, ensure the appropriate information is entered into the following fields then select Next:
    • Login required
      Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    • Username
    • Password
    • SMTP server
    • Security type
      • None
      • SSL
      • TLS
    • Server port
  4. Enter the appropriate information into the following fields then select Next:
    • Account name
    • Your name
  5. From the Set up accounts screen, select Next.
  6. Continue with initial setup.

Backup Assistant

  1. From the Backup Assistant screen, ensure 'I agree to the license agreement' is selected (checked) the select Next.
  2. From the Restore contacts screen, enter the appropriate PIN then select Next.
  3. When prompted, select OK.
  4. Continue with initial setup.
