Windows® Device Manager Conflicts - Pantech UML290

Start Device Manager.

  • Windows 8.1/Windows RT 8.1
    1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen then tap Search.
      Note If you're using a mounse, point to the lower-right corner, move the mouse pointer up then click Search
    2. From the search box, enter Device Manager then tap or click Device Manager.
      Note You might be asked for an admin password or to confirm your choice.
  • Windows 7
    • Click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Device Manager.
  • Windows Vista
    • Click Start > (Settings) Control Panel > (System and Maintenance) > Device Manager.
      Note If prompted, click Continue.
  • Windows 2000 / XP
    • Click Start > (Settings) Control Panel > (Performance and Maintenance) > System > Hardware > Device Manager.

    The following devices are normally installed:

    Network adapters
    Ports (COM & LPT)
    PANTECH UML290 Connection Manager Port (COM x)
    PANTECH UML290 Diagnostic Port (COM x)
    PANTECH UML290 NMEA Port (COM x)
    Universal Serial Bus controllers
    PANTECH UML290 RMNET Service Driver
    PANTECH UML290 Composite Device
    Device Manager
    Note If a conflict is present, a red X, yellow ! or yellow ? is displayed to the left of a listed device or may be indicated by a device entry labeled Other Devices or Unknown. The drivers must be updated or reinstalled.

    If a conflict is present:
    Note For systems requirement information, refer to the VZAccess Manager website.
    1. Ensure the device drivers are installed. Refer to Downloading and installing VZAccess Manager - Windows for additional assistance.
      Note If the device drivers are installed and a conflict is still present, continue to step 2.
    2. Right-click the device then click Update Driver Software.
      Note If using Windows 2000 / XP, right-click the device then click Update Driver.
      Note The device name may differ from the example shown.

    3. Click Browse my computer for driver software.
      Note If using Windows 2000 / XP, select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) then click Next.

    4. Enter C:\Program Files\PANTECH\UML290 into the search window then click Next.
      Note If using Windows 2000 / XP, ensure that Search for the best driver in these locations and Include this location in the search are selected.
      Note The driver location can be entered manually or navigated to by clicking Browse.

    5. Click Close.
      Note If using Windows 2000 / XP, click Finish.
