Browser Cookies On/Off - Google Chromebook

If you can't browse the Internet or view website images, view this information. Our Troubleshooting Assistant can help you with other device issues if you aren't currently using the tool.

Note To determine Chrome OS version, refer to View Software Version.

Chrome OS 19.x
Chrome OS 18.x

 

 

Chrome OS 19.x

  1. From a browser tab, click the wrench icon (located in the upper-right).
    Note To launch a browser tab, click New tab (located in the lower-left of the launcher screen).
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click Show advanced settings (located below the Users section).
    Note If necessary, scroll to the bottom of the page.
  4. From the Privacy section, click content settings.
  5. From the Cookies section, click one of the following:
    Allow local data to be set (recommended)
    Cookies are enabled.
    Allow local data to be set for the current session only
    Cookies are enabled for the current session only.
    Block sites from setting any data
    Cookies are disabled.

Chrome OS 18.x

  1. From a browser tab, click the wrench icon (located in the upper-right).
  2. Click Settings.
  3. From the left navigation pane, click Under the Hood.
  4. From the Privacy section, click content settings.
  5. From the Cookies section, click one of the following:
    Allow local data to be set (recommended)
    Cookies are enabled.
    Allow local data to be set for the current session only
    Cookies are enabled for the current session only.
    Block sites from setting any data
    Cookies are disabled.
