Windows® Device Manager Conflicts - Pantech Caper

Start Device Manager.

  • Windows 8
    • Right-Click Start Screen > All Apps > Control Panel > System and Security > Device Manager.
  • Windows 7
    • Click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Device Manager.
  • Windows Vista
    • Click Start > (Settings) Control Panel > (System and Maintenance) > Device Manager.
      Note If prompted, click Continue.

The following devices are normally installed:

Modems
PANTECH Handset (UDP)
Ports (COM & LPT)
PANTECH Handset Diagnostic Serial Port (UDP) (COM x)
Universal Serial Bus controllers
PANTECH Handset USB Composite Device (UDP)
Device Manager
Note If a conflict is present, a red X, yellow ! or yellow ? is displayed to the left of a listed device or may be indicated by a device entry labeled Other Devices or Unknown. The drivers must be updated or reinstalled.
Conflict

If a conflict is present:

  1. Ensure that the device drivers are installed. Refer to Installing USB drivers for additional assistance.
    Note If the device drivers are installed and a conflict is still present, continue to step 2.
  2. Right-click the device then click Update Driver Software....
    Note If using Windows XP, right-click the device then click Update Driver...

  3. Click Browse my computer for driver software.
    Note If using Windows XP, select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) then click Next.

  4. Enter C:\Program Files\PANTECH into the search window, ensure Include subfolders is selected then click Next.
    Note If using Windows XP, ensure that Search for the best driver in these locations and Include this location in the search are selected.
    Note The driver location can be entered manually or navigated to by clicking Browse.
    Update location
  5. Click Close.
    Note If using Windows XP, click Finish.
    Update complete
