Wi-Fi Encryption Key/Passphrase

This may help if you're having issues connecting to Wi-Fi. Our Troubleshooting Assistant can help you with other device issues if you aren't currently using the tool.

  1. Remove the battery cover.

    Note The password is digits 7 - 14 of the IMEI.

  • The default SSID / Password are Verizon AC30 XXXX / MEID (in decimal format, located on the bar code label under the battery).

  • The default SSID / Password is located on the label on the back of the device.
    Note Alternative method: Navigate Settings > Device Info > Password.

Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MHS291L

  1. From the home screen, highlight Menu then press OK.
    Note Utilize the Scroll buttons to highlight.
  2. Highlight Wi-Fi Name/Password then press OK.
  3. View the Wi-Fi Name and password.
    Note If the Wi-Fi Name and / or Wi-Fi Password is not visible, the Display Wi-Fi Name and Display Wi-Fi Password options can be enabled via the Administration Web Interface.

  • The default SSID / Password are located on the label on the back of the device.
    Note The password is the 11-digit ESN (decimal).

  • The default SSID / Password are located on the label on the back of the device.

Device software version 2.16.07 (and earlier)

  • The password is the IMEI minus the last digit.

Device software version 2.23

  • New devices:
    • The Wi-Fi® / Admin password is on a label located on the back of the device or on a label located under the battery.

  • Device Upgrade Utility (DUU) devices:
    • The password is unchanged by the DUU, i.e., customer set password or the IMEI minus the last digit.
      Note If the password is unknown perform a hard reset using the alternate method then use the IMEI minus the last digit.

Verizon Wireless MiFi 4620L

Wi-Fi® Network Name / SSID
The name that identifies the wireless network.
Wi-Fi Password
The password that is needed to connect to the Wi-Fi network.
Admin Password
The password that is needed to access the Administration Web Interface and make changes to default Wi-Fi settings.

Note To locate the default Admin Password, view the external label.

  1. From the home screen, select Menu.
    Note Utilize the Scroll buttons to highlight and the Select button to select.

  2. Highlight Wi-Fi then select More.

  3. View the Wi-Fi Network Name then select More.
    Note The network name depicted in the following image is merely an example.

  4. View the Wi-Fi Password then select OK.

View SSID and Wi-Fi / Admin Password Externally

Note The SSID and Wi-Fi Password printed on the external label are the default settings. If these settings are changed, the current settings can be viewed via the display.

Note If the Admin Password is changed and forgotten, performing a hard reset will restore the default settings printed on the external label.

  1. Remove the battery cover.
    Note Utilizing the provided slot, carefully lift then detach the cover.

  2. View the default SSID and Wi-Fi / Admin Password located on the label.
    Note The SSID and Password depicted in the following image are merely an example.

  4. Press in on the cover to lock it into place.

Wi-Fi Name / SSID
