Enable/Disable Restrictions - Apple® iPhone® 4S

Note Notes:

  • Any restriction set to off/disabled will hide the corresponding icon (App Store, iTunes, Safari, etc.) on the home screen.
  • Restrictions are often turned on/off by an employee's corporate policy. The user may need to contact their IT department for additional information.
  • To determine Device Software Version, refer to View Software Version.

Turn On Restrictions (Device Software version iOS 7 & iOS 8)
Turn Off Restrictions (Device Software version iOS 7 & iOS 8)

 

Turn On Restrictions

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Tap Restrictions.
  4. Tap Enable Restrictions.
  5. Enter a restrictions passcode.
  6. Re-enter the restrictions passcode.
  7. Tap the switches to turn on Switch On or off Switch Off.
    Note Restriction is turned on when the switch is in the green position.
    Note The restrictions listed below are examples.
    • Safari
    • Camera
    • FaceTime
    • iTunes Store
    • Installing Apps (The App store will be hidden if set to Off)
    • Deleting Apps
    • Siri
    • Air Drop

  3. Tap Restrictions.
  4. Enter the restrictions passcode.
  5. Tap Disable Restrictions.
  6. Enter the restrictions passcode.
