Optimize Data Usage - DROID RAZR / RAZR MAXX by MOTOROLA

Note Data usage information provided by the device may differ from actual usage. For data usage information provided by Verizon Wireless, dial #DATA (#3282) from the device or refer to the My Verizon website.

  1. From a home screen, select Apps ( Applications icon located at the bottom).
  2. From the All Apps tab, select Settings.
  3. Select Data usage.

Set mobile data limit
View data usage by app
Restrict data usage by app

 

Change data usage cycle

  1. From the Data usage cycle field, select the drop down menu.
  2. Select Change cycle.
  3. Select the appropriate date then select Set.
    Note Refer to the My Verizon website for billing cycle date.

Set mobile data warning

Note A notification message appears upon reaching the specified data usage level indicated by the orange warning line.

  1. Select and hold the orange dot located to the right of the warning line.
  2. Drag the warning line to the desired level (e.g. 1.8GB) then release.

Set mobile data limit

Caution Mobile data (cellular data) is disabled upon reaching the specified data usage level indicated by the red limit line. To continue to utilize applications dependant upon a data connection (e.g. Browser, Email, Market, etc.), a Wi-Fi connection can be used or Mobile data must be manually re-enabled (overage charges may apply).

  1. Select Set mobile data limit.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  2. If presented, review the message then select OK.
  3. Select and hold the red dot located to the right of the limit line.
  4. Drag the limit line to the desired level (e.g. 2.0GB) then release.
    Note Ensure the limit line is within plan allowances.

View data usage by app

  1. Select an app (located below the usage graph).
  2. View the usage information.

Restrict data usage by app

Note Some apps depend upon background data (transferring data when not directly in use). Restricting background data may cause those apps to stop functioning unless a Wi-Fi connection is available.

  1. Select an app (located below the usage graph).
  2. Select Restrict background data.
    Note Enabled when a check mark Check box icon is present.
  3. If presented, review the message then select OK.
