Soft Reset - DROID RAZR / RAZR MAXX by MOTOROLA
Soft reset can resolve issues like continuous resetting/rebooting, device crashing, freezing, won't ring or vibrate, can't make or receive calls, device locks up and keypad doesn't respond. Our Troubleshooting Assistant can help you with other device issues if you aren't currently using the tool.
A soft reset (turning the device off then back on) is similar to restarting a desktop computer and is one of the first steps in troubleshooting a device. In most cases, a soft reset won't affect data on the device, unless the battery is very low.
- Press and momentarily hold the Power button (located on the right edge).
- Select Power off.
- Select OK.
Allow several seconds for the device to power off.
- Press and hold the Power button until the Motorola logo appears then release.
- Press and hold the Volume down button (located on the right edge).
- While continuing to hold Volume down, press and hold the Power button until the device powers off (approximately ten seconds) then release all buttons.
Pressing and holding the Power and Volume Down buttons captures a screenshot of the display. You may hear a shutter sound when this occurs. Continue to hold the Power and Volume Down buttons until the phone shuts down.
