Transfer Pictures/Videos - DROID RAZR / RAZR MAXX by MOTOROLA

This helps when you want to transfer or move your picture/video files between your device and a computer/PC or memory card. Our Troubleshooting Assistant can help you with other device issues if you aren't currently using the tool.

Only DRM free or unprotected video can be transferred via this method. DRM protected content do not play on this device.

Note If using a Macintosh computer, additional software is required in order to transfer files.

From a Computer to the Device

From the Device to a Removable SD Card

 

From a Computer to the Device

  1. Connect the device to a computer using the supplied USB cable.
    1. If necessary, select the status bar (located at the top) then swipe it down.
    2. Select Connected as a camera or mass storage.
    3. Select Media device (MTP).
      Note Selected when a check mark Check box icon is present.
  2. Launch Windows Explorer.
    Note Using the computer keyboard, press Windows+E ( windows key logo+E) keys.
    Note Alternatively, right-click Start then click Explore.
  3. Using Windows Explorer, navigate: DROID RAZR > Internal storage.
    note If an SD card is present, music files can be transfered to that location by navigating: DROID RAZR > SD card.
  4. Utilize the computer to copy video or picture files into the appropriate directory:
    • Movies
    • Pictures
  5. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.

From the Device to a Computer

  1. Connect the device to a computer using the supplied USB cable.

  4. Utilize the computer to copy video or picture files from the following folders into the desired folder(s) on the computer's hard drive:
    • DCIM\Camera
    • Download
    • Movies
    • Pictures
  5. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.

From the Device to a Removable SD Card

  1. From a home screen, select Apps Applications icon (located at the bottom).
  2. From the Apps tab, select Files.
  3. Select Device storage.
  4. Select DCIM.
  5. Select Camera.
  6. Select Menu Menu icon (located at the bottom).
  7. Select Select items.
  8. Select the desired image(s) or video(s).
    note Selected when highlighted.
  9. Select Copy Copy icon or Move Move icon (located at the bottom).
  10. Select the copied or selected item dropdown menu Drop down menu icon (located at the top).
  11. Select SD card.
  12. Select the preferred folder then select Paste (located at the top).
    note To create a folder:
    1. Select Menu Menu icon (located in the lower right).
    2. Select Create new folder.
    3. Enter the desired folder name then select OK.
