SIM Card - Inserting/Removing - DROID 4 by MOTOROLA

Instructions on inserting/removing your SIM can help with activation issues/errors, browser connection problems, and a blank/frozen screen. Our Troubleshooting Assistant can help you with other device issues if you aren't currently using the tool.

Note Do not attempt to insert or remove the SIM card with device powered on. Doing so can harm the SIM card and/or the device.

Insert the SIM Card

  1. Power the device off.
    Note Press and hold the Power button then select Power off.

  2. Insert the rear cover tool in the hole near the back camera lense to unlock the rear cover.

  3. With the rear cover tool in place, slide the cover down and then up to remove.

  4. Lift the rubber grommet.

  5. With the gold contacts facing down, insert the SIM card in the lower slot.

  6. Lower the rubber grommet.

  7. Replace the battery cover.
    Note Align the cover then gently slide up into place.

Remove the SIM Card

  1. Power the device off.
    Note Press and hold the Power button then select Power off.

  2. Insert the rear cover tool in the hole near the back camera lense to unlock the rear cover.

  3. With the rear cover tool in place, slide the cover down and then up to remove.

  4. Remove the SIM card.

  5. Lower the rubber grommet.

  6. Replace the battery cover.
    Note Align the cover then gently slide up into place.
