Email Account Settings (Personal POP/IMAP) - DROID Xyboard 10.1 by MOTOROLA

  1. From a home screen, select Apps Applications icon (located in the upper right).
  2. From the Apps tab, select Email.
  3. Select Menu Menu icon (located in the upper right).
  4. Select Settings.
  5. Select one of the following:
    General Settings
    Account Specific Settings

General Settings

Note Available settings depend upon the type of account.

  1. Select General.
  2. To choose which screen to show after deleting a message:
    1. Select Auto-advance.
    2. Select one of the following:
      • Newer message
      • Older message
      • Message list
  3. Select Reply all to enable or disable.
  4. To disable automatic display of images in messages:
    1. Select Hide pictures in messages.
    2. From the Hide pictures in messages? prompt, select OK.
  5. To adjust the preview of messages:
    1. Select Message preview.
    2. Select one of the following:
      • Small
      • Normal
      • Large
  6. Select Dark theme to enable or disable.
  7. To change Gesture settings:
    1. Select Email list gestures.
    2. Select Email gestures to enable or disable.
    3. To change gesture actions:
      1. Select either Right-to-left action or Left-to-right action then select one of the following:
        • Delete
        • Move
        • Mark read/unread
        • Nothing

Account Specific Settings

Note Available settings depend upon the type of account.

  1. Select the appropriate account.
  2. Select Account name.
  3. Enter or edit the name then select OK.
  4. Select Your name (if available).
  5. Enter or edit the name then select OK.
  6. Select Default account to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  7. To change Email notifications:
    1. Select Notification settings.
    2. Select Email notifications to enable or disable.
      Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    3. To change the notification sound:
      1. Select Change ringtone.
      2. Select the preferred ringtone then select OK.
  8. Select Back Back icon (located in the lower left).
  9. To change the composition of the font (e.g., size, bold, italic, etc.):
    1. Select Composer preferences.
    2. Select any of the following to enable or disable then select OK
      Composer preferences, Bold Bold
      Composer preferences, Italic Italic
      Composer preferences, Underscore Underscore
      Composer preferences, Font Font, select one of the following:
      • Sans Serif
      • Serif
      • Monospace
      Composer preferneces, Font size Font size, select one of the following:
      • Smallest
      • Small
      • Normal
      • Big
      • Biggest
      Composer preferneces, Font color Font color, select color from palette.
      Composer preferences, Fill Background fill color, select color from palette.
  10. To edit the signature:
    1. Select Signature.
    2. Enter or edit the signature as appropriate then select OK.
  11. To create, edit or delete quick responses:
    1. Select Quick responses.
      • Create: select Create new (located at the bottom) enter the response then select Save.
      • Edit: select the response, edit as preferred then select Save.
      • Delete: select the trashcan icon Delete trashcan (located to the right).
    2. To return to account settings, select Back Back icon.
  12. Select Display suggested addresses to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  13. Select Clear address history to remove all previously entered addresses.
  14. To change the frequency of checking for email:
    1. Select Mailbox check frequency.
    2. Select one of the following:
      • Automatic (Push)
      • Never
      • Every 15 minutes
      • Every 30 minutes
      • Every hour
      • Every 2 hours
      • Every 4 hours
  15. Select Days to sync then select one of the following:
    • Automatic
    • One day
    • Three days
    • One week
    • Two weeks
    • One month
  16. To change the email file download size:
    1. Select Download size.
    2. Select one of the following:
      • Subject Only
      • 0.5 KB
      • 1 KB
      • 2 KB
      • 5 KB
      • 10 KB
      • 20 KB
      • 50 KB
      • 100 KB
      • All
  17. Select any of the following to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    • Sync email
    • Sync contacts
    • Sync calendar
    • Sync Task
    • Download attachments
    • Sync over Wi-Fi only
  18. Select Email notifications to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  19. To change notification sound:
    1. Select Choose ringtone.
    2. Select the preferred ringtone then select OK.
  20. To edit the incoming server settings:
    1. Select Incoming settings.
    2. Ensure the appropriate information is entered in the following fields then select Done (located in the lower right).
      Note Depending upon email account type, the available settings may vary.
      • Password
      • POP3/IMAP server
      • Security type
        • None
        • SSL
        • SSL (Accept all certificates)
        • TLS
        • TLS (Accept all certificates)
      • Port
      • Authentication Method
        • Auto
        • Authenticated POP
        • DIGEST-MD5
        • CRAM-MD5
        • Password
      • Delete email from server
        • Never
        • When I delete from Inbox
  21. To edit the outgoing server settings:
    1. Select Outgoing settings.
    2. Ensure the appropriate information is entered into the following fields then select Done (located in the lower right).
      Note Depending upon email account type, the available settings may vary.
      • SMTP server
      • Security type
        • None
        • SSL
        • SSL (Accept all certificates)
        • TLS
        • TLS (Accept all certificates)
      • Port
      • Require sign-in
        Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
        Note If applicable, ensure the appropriate Username and Password are entered.
      • Authentication Method
        • Auto
        • DIGEST-MD5
        • CRAM-MD5
        • Plain
        • Login
