Set Up Corporate Email (Exchange Activesync®) - Samsung Galaxy Tab® 2 (7.0)

Note Contact the Exchange/IT administrator for assistance with server information and credentials.

Note Account synchronization may take several minutes.

  1. From a home screen, select Apps Apps icon.
    Note Located at the bottom when viewed in portrait or at the right in landscape.
  2. From the Apps tab, select Settings.
  3. Select Add account.
  4. Select Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
  5. From the blahblan, enter the Email address and Password then select Next Manual setup.
  6. If Setup successfully connects with the Exchange server, skip to step 9. Otherwise select Edit details.
  7. From the Exchange server settings screen, enter the following:
    • Domain\user name
    • Exchange server
  8. If appropriate, configure the following then select Next.
    Note Enabled when a check mark Check box icon is present.
    • Use secure connection (SSL)
    • Use client certificate
      Note Select Client certificate then follow the on-screen instructions to navigate to the appropriate certificate.
  9. If presented with Activation screen, select OK.
  10. If presented with Remote security administration screen, select OK.
    Note If no IT policy is set, skip to step 11.
  11. From the Account options screen, configure any the following as required.
    • Peak schedule / Off-peak schedule
      • Push
      • Manual
      • 5 minutes
      • 15 minutes
      • 1 hour
      • 4 hours
      • 12 hours
    • Period to sync email
      • Automatic
      • All
      • 1 day
      • 3 days
      • 1 week
      • 2 weeks
      • 1 month
    • Emails retrieval size
      • Header only
      • 0.5 KB
      • 1 KB
      • 2 KB
      • 5 KB
      • 10 KB
      • 20 KB
      • 50 KB
      • 100 KB
      • All
    • Period to sync Calendar
      • 2 weeks
      • 1 month
      • 3 months
      • 6 months
      • All calendar
  12. Select any of the following to enable/disable then select Next.
    Note Enabled when a check mark Check box icon is present.
    • Send email from this account by default
    • Notify me when email arrives
    • Sync Email
    • Sync Contacts
    • Sync Calendar
    • Sync Task
    • Automatically download attachments when connected to Wi-Fi
  13. If presented with Activate device administrator:
    Note If no IT policy is set, skip to step 17.
  14. Select Activate.
  15. If presented with Confirm pattern, PIN or password, draw Patttern, or enter the PIN or Password.
  16. Select the appropriate Screen unlock settings (e.g., Password).
  17. From the Select password screen, enter the preferred password then select Continue.
  18. Enter the password to confirm then select OK.
  19. Enter an Account name then select Done.
