Transfer Music Files - DROID RAZR M by MOTOROLA / LUGE by Motorola

This helps you move or transfer music between your device and a computer/PC or memory card. Our Troubleshooting Assistant can help you with other device issues if you aren't currently using the tool.

Transfer music files from the device to a computer

caution Only DRM free / unprotected music can be transferred via this method. DRM protected content (e.g. songs downloaded via iTunes, Rhapsody subscription, etc.) will not play on this device.

Note If using a Macintosh computer, additional software is required in order to transfer files.

  1. Connect the device to a computer using the supplied USB cable.
    1. If necessary, select and hold the status bar (located at the top) then drag to the bottom.
    2. Select Connected as a camera / mass storage.
    3. Select Media device (MTP).
      Note Selected when a check mark is present.
  2. Launch Windows Explorer.
    Note Using the computer keyboard, press Windows+E ( windows key logo+E) keys.
    Note Alternatively, right-click Start then click Explore.
  3. Using Windows Explorer, navigate: XT907 > Internal Storage > Music.
    note XT907 is listed under the Portable Devices section.
    note If an SD card is present, music files can be transfered to that location by navigating: XT907 > SD card.
  4. Use the computer to copy music and other audio files into the folder.
    note For any accompanying artwork in JPEG format, rename the art file albumart.jpg and copy into the same folder as the music files.
  5. To further organize files, create a subfolder in the newly created music folder and copy desired music files into it.

Transfer music files from internal device storage to a removable SD card

  1. From a home screen, select Apps ( Apps icon located at the bottom).
  2. From the APPS tab, select Files.
  3. Select Device storage.
  4. Navigate to the location of the file(s) to be transferred (e.g. Device storage\Music).
  5. Select Menu ( Menu icon located in the lower-right).
  6. Select Select items.
  7. Select (highlight) the items to be transferred.
  8. Select Move ( Move icon located at the bottom).
  9. Select the drop down menu located in the upper-left (e.g. 1 selected, 2 selected, etc.).
  10. Select SD card.
  11. Select MOVE (located in the upper-right).
