Configure Corporate Email (Exchange ActiveSync®) - Samsung Galaxy Tab® 2 (10.1)

Note Contact the Exchange or IT administrator for assistance with server information and credentials.

Note Account synchronization may take several minutes.

  1. From a home screen, select Apps Applications icon (located in the upper right).
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Microsoft Exchange Activesync®.
  4. Select Settings.
  5. Select the appropriate account.
  6. To change the name of the account:
    1. Select Account name.
    2. Edit the name then select OK.
  7. To change the signature:
    1. Select the word Signature.
    2. Edit the signature then select OK.
  8. Select the Signature switch to enable Signature switch On icon or Signature switch Off icon disable.
    Select Default account to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark Chekc box icon is present.
  9. Select Always Cc/Bcc myself to configure then select one of the following:
    • None
    • Cc
    • Bcc
  10. Select Forward with files to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark Chekc box icon is present.
  11. Select Show images to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark Chekc box icon is present.
  12. Select Auto download attachments to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark Chekc box icon is present.
  13. Select Period to sync email then select one of the following:
    • Automatic
    • All
    • 1 day
    • 3 days
    • 1 week
    • 2 weeks
    • 1 month
  14. Select Sync schedule then configure the following as appropriate.
    1. Select Peak schedule then select one of the following:
      • Push
      • Manual
      • 5 minutes
      • 15 minutes
      • 1 hour
      • 4 hours
      • 12 hours
    2. Select Off-peak schedule then select one of the following:
      • Push
      • Manual
      • 5 minutes
      • 15 minutes
      • 1 hour
      • 4 hours
      • 12 hours
    3. To configure the Peak days, ensure the appropriate days are selected.
      Note Selected when highlighted.
    4. Select Peak start time, adjust the start time then select Set.
    5. Select Peak end time, adjust the end time then select Set.
    6. Select While roaming then select one of the following:
      • Manual
      • Use above settings
    7. Select Done (located in the upper right).
  15. Select Size to retrieve emails then select one of the following:
    • Headers only
    • 4 KB
    • 5 KB
    • 7 KB
    • 10 KB
    • 20 KB
    • 50 KB
    • 100 KB
    • All
  16. Select Period to sync Calendar then select one of the following:
    • 2 weeks
    • 1 month
    • 3 months
    • 6 months
    • All calendar
  17. Select Security options then configure the following as appropriate.
    1. Select Encrypt to enable or disable.
      Note Enabled when a check mark Chekc box icon is present.
    2. Select Encryption algorithm then select one of the following:
      • 3DES
      • DES
      • RC2 128bit
      • RC2 64bit
      • RC2 40bit
    3. Select Sign to enable or disable.
      Note Enabled when a check mark Chekc box icon is present.
    4. Select Sign algorithm then select one of the following:
      • SHA1
      • MD5
    5. For S/MIME support, select Email certificate then select the appropriate certificate.
    6. To review corporate security policy, select Security policy list.
      Note After reviewing the policies, select Back Back button icon (located in the lower right).
    7. Select Done (located in the upper right).
  18. Select In case of sync conflict then select one of the following:
    • Device has priority
    • Server has priority
  19. Select Auto resend times then select one of the following:
    • No limits
    • 1 time
    • 3 times
    • 5 times
    • 10 times
  20. Select Email notifications to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark Chekc box icon is present.
  21. When Email notifications are enabled:
    1. Select Select ringtone
    2. Select the preferred ringtone then select OK.
  22. From the Server settings section, select Exchange server settings.
  23. Verify the following settings then select Done (located in the upper left).
    • Domain\username
      Note This field can only be verified, to change the account must be removed and re-added.
    • Password
    • Exchange server
    • Select Use secure connection (SSL) to enable or disable.
      Note Enabled when a check mark Chekc box icon is present.
    • Select Use client certificate to enable or disable then select Client certificate.
      Note Must have a micro-SD card installed with the appropriate certificate file.
  24. Select any of the following to enable or disable syncing.
    Note Enabled when a check mark Chekc box icon is present.
    • Sync email
    • Sync contacts
    • Sync calendar
    • Sync task
