Enable/Disable/Modify the SIM PIN - Samsung Galaxy S® 4

Note Enabling the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) Personal Identification Number (PIN) locks the SIM card so that it cannot be used until the correct code is entered. If the incorrect PIN code is entered too many times, a PIN Unlock Key (PUK) must be obtained from Verizon Wireless.

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps (located in the lower right).
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Settings.
  3. From the More tab, tap Security.
  4. Tap Set up SIM card lock.

Modify SIM PIN

 

Enable/Disable SIM PIN

  1. Tap Lock SIM card.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  2. Enter the current SIM PIN then tap OK.
    Note The default SIM PIN is 1111.

Modify SIM PIN

Note The SIM card must be locked (SIM PIN enabled) in order to change the current SIM PIN.

  1. Tap Change SIM PIN.
  2. Enter the Old SIM PIN (current SIM PIN) then tap OK.
    Note The default SIM PIN is 1111.
  3. Enter the New SIM PIN then tap OK.
  4. Re-enter the New SIM PIN then tap OK.
