Transfer Music Files - LG G2

This helps you move or transfer music between your device and a computer/PC. Our Troubleshooting Assistant can help you with other device issues if you aren't currently using the tool.

Transfer from a Computer to the Device

caution Only DRM free or unprotected music can be transferred via this method. DRM protected content (e.g. songs downloaded via iTunes, Rhapsody subscription, etc.) do not play on this device.

Note If using a Macintosh computer, additional software is required in order to transfer files.

  1. Connect the device to a computer using the supplied USB cable.
    1. If necessary, select and hold the status bar (located at the top) then drag it down.
    2. Select USB connected.
    3. Select Media sync (MTP).
      Note Selected when a dot is present.
  2. Launch Windows Explorer.
    Note Using the computer keyboard, press Windows+E ( windows key logo+E) keys.
    Note Alternatively, right-click Start then click Open Windows Explore.
  3. From the Portable Devices section, navigate: VS980 4G > Internal Storage > Music.
  4. Use the computer to copy music and other audio files into the folder.
    note For any accompanying artwork in JPEG format, rename the art file albumart.jpg and copy into the same folder as the music files.
  5. To further organize files, create a subfolder in the newly created music folder and copy desired music files into it.

  4. Utilize the computer to copy music files from the music folder to the desired location on the computer.
  5. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
