Discounts by Verizon Wireless
  1. What are Discounts by Verizon Wireless?

    Discounts by Verizon Wireless offers discounts on wireless products and services. These discounts are for employees of companies, or those affiliated with organizations that have an agreement for wireless service with Verizon Wireless.



Discount Hot Topics
  1. I’m a member of the military or a veteran. Do I qualify for a discount?

    Yes, as part of our commitment to support the men and women who serve our country, we offer a 15% discount off eligible plans and features to all military personnel and veterans.

    To start saving now, validate your service by going to www.verizonwireless.com/militarydiscount, for more information and to start the discount process. You'll be directed to a page where you can enter the Verizon Wireless phone number associated with your personal wireless account and follow the step-by-step instructions provided. If asked for your company name and address, enter your branch of service and your last known military address (including APO/FPO, AP/AE etc.).

    If you are active military, you can provide one of the following:

     

    • Your work or government-issued email address
    • Recent paystub issued within the last 60 days


    If you are a veteran, you can provide one of the following:

    • Veterans Identification Card (VIC)
    • Veterans Health Identification Card (VHIC)
    • Veterans Advantage Card (VAC)
    • DD Form 214 (or any other government issued, legacy discharge document)
    • Military Retiree Account Statement

      Note: Don't submit your standard Military ID card (known as the Uniformed Services ID Card).


  2. Does my plan or feature qualify for a discount?

    Most voice and data plans with a monthly access fee of $34.99 or higher qualify for a discount. The Monthly Account Access Fees, the portion of the fee that applies to all lines, on MORE Everything plans are also discountable if it s $34.99 or higher. Monthly Line Access Fees, the portion of the fees that are assigned to each individual line, are not eligible for discounts.

    Features added onto your account may be eligible for discounts if the monthly access fees are $24.99 or higher. Note: some plans and features are not eligible for discounts and that limitation will be called out in the plan details.



  3. I’ve recently registered or validated my discount, where can I check to see if the discount is applied to my account?

    If you've received a notification that your submission was validated, there are several places to view your discount in My Verizon.

    • In the Notification Center
    • From the main My Verizon menu:
      • Hover your mouse over the My Verizon menu at the top of the page
      • Select My Plans & Services
      • Scroll to the bottom of the page for Promotions and Discounts.
    • If the discount has been applied for more than one bill cycle, it also appears on your monthly billing statement.


Validation
  1. What is validation, and why am I being asked to validate my employment or affiliation?

    Since these discounts are only available to employees of companies, or those affiliated with organizations that have an agreement with Verizon Wireless, we ask that you validate your employment or affiliation with such an organization when registering for a new discount or renewing an existing discount on your personal wireless account.

    Since your employment or affiliation status may change over time, we will periodically ask you to validate your status. Validation is necessary to ensure we have accurate information regarding the organization you work for, or are affiliated with, and to ensure you re getting the discount you re eligible to receive. If your employment or affiliation status has changed, you may still be eligible for a discount through your new employer or affiliation. To find out, please complete the validation process.



  2. I heard that Verizon Wireless will be requiring validation to determine my discount eligibility, but I haven't received any information. What do I need to do?

    No action is required at this time. When it's time for you to validate your employment or affiliation, you'll receive a variety of communications that may include:

    • Email
    • Text messages
    • Bill messages
    • Postal mail
    • Phone calls

    The communications will provide you with clear instructions on how to validate your employment or affiliation through a simple online or postal mail process.



  3. I validated my employment or affiliation when I signed up for my discount. Why am I being asked to validate again?

    Your discount eligibility is tied to your employment or affiliation status, which may change over time. We ll periodically ask you to validate your current employment or affiliation status in order to ensure we have accurate information regarding the organization you work for or are affiliated with, and the discount for which you are eligible.

    After we ve processed your request, you ll receive the discount currently available under your organization s agreement with Verizon Wireless.



  4. Does validation impact my existing wireless service contract?

    No. Validation does not extend your wireless service contract. It simply ensures that you ll receive the discount currently available under your organization s agreement with Verizon Wireless.



  5. How often will I need to validate my employment or affiliation?

    Validation will be done periodically. We won t request it more than once per year.



  6. How long do I have to validate?

    If you've received notice to renew your discount, please respond within 30 days after the first notification is sent to allow time for processing.



  7. What happens if I don't validate?

    If you don't complete your employment or affiliation validation within 60 days from when the first validation notification was sent, your discount will be automatically removed. Please submit your validation request within 30 days of receiving your first notice to allow time for processing.



  8. What should I do if I’m eligible for the discount but I missed the renewal window?

    You can re-enroll for your discount by going to www.verizonwireless.com/discounts and entering your mobile number or My Verizon ID in the Existing Verizon Customers section to get started.

    Please note: If you currently receive a discount but have missed the renewal window, it may be removed while we process your employment or affiliation validation request.



  9. What does Verizon Wireless do with the information that I’m being asked to submit as part of validation?

    The information you provide will only be used to validate your employment or affiliation status. We value your privacy and won't use the information in any way other than the stated purpose.

    If you're uploading a paystub or other proof of employment or affiliation, we ask that you black out the following:

    • Salary
    • Tax Amount
    • Banking Information
    • Social Security Number
    • Employee ID Number

    You can refer to our privacy policy for more information.



  10. Why are the last four digits of my Social Security Number required for validation?

    The last 4 digits of your SSN helps ensure that the correct customer account is identified for validation. This information is only used for account verification purposes. We value your privacy and won t use this information in any way other than the stated purpose.



  11. What happens if I have left the organization that I was with when I signed up for my discount?

    If your employment or affiliation status has changed, you may still be eligible for a discount through your new organization. We encourage you to go through the validation process using your new organization's information.

    If you're no longer eligible for a discount through your organization, the discount will be removed from your account automatically.

  12. If I’m no longer eligible for a discount, will I be retroactively charged the difference between the full price and discounted price of service?

    No, you won't be retroactively charged. If you're no longer eligible, the discount will simply be removed from your account.



How to Validate
  1. How do I validate my employment or affiliation with an organization that has an agreement with Verizon Wireless?

    To validate your employment or affiliation with an organization that has an agreement with Verizon Wireless, go to www.verizonwireless.com/discounts, enter any Verizon Wireless phone number associated with your personal wireless account and follow the step-by-step instructions provided.

    You ll be asked to provide your work email address, a legible copy of a recent paystub or a legible copy of other proof of your employment or affiliation with an organization that has an agreement with Verizon Wireless. The paystub or other proof of employment or affiliation should not be more than 60 days old.



  2. Can I use my smartphone or tablet to validate my employment or affiliation with an organization that has an agreement with Verizon Wireless?

    Yes, you can use your smartphone or tablet to validate your employment or affiliation with an organization that has an agreement with Verizon Wireless. On your smartphone or tablet, go to www.verizonwireless.com/discounts, enter any Verizon Wireless phone number associated with your personal wireless account and follow the step-by-step instructions provided. You can use the camera on your smartphone or tablet to take a picture of your paystub or other proof of employment or affiliation.

    Note: Your smartphone or tablet must have iOS 6+ or Android™ OS 4.0+.



  3. How do I validate using my work email address?

    The easiest way to validate is to use your work email. If your organization has a unique email domain (i.e. the string that follows the "@" symbol in an email address) and has registered that domain with us, you may be able to use your work email address to validate. To validate using your work email address:

    1. Go to www.verizonwireless.com/discounts.

    2. Under the Existing Verizon Customers section, enter any Verizon Wireless phone number associated with your personal wireless account and click Log In to Validate.

    3. On the next page, click Validate by Work Email Address.

    4. On the next page, verify your mobile number, enter and confirm your work email address and click Validate My Work Email Address.

    5. Check your work email address for a confirmation email sent from customerserviceb2b@verizonwireless.com, with the subject Discounts by Verizon Wireless.

    6. Click the Confirm My Discount link in the confirmation email.

    7. The Confirm My Discount link must be clicked within 72 hours. If the link has expired, please restart this process to resubmit.

      Note: If the Confirm My Discount link does not display within the confirmation email, enable your email application to display images.


  4. My employer or organization has an email address that is unique to them, why didn’t my email address work when I submitted?

    While your email address may be unique to your employer or organization, the email domain (i.e. the string that follows the "@" symbol in an email address) may not have been provided to us by your employer or organization. When an email address is used for validation, the domain is compared against a database of domains provided from employers and organizations. If an employer or organization has not provided the unique email domain to Verizon Wireless, we won't be able to complete the request using email. Even if you can't complete the process using your work email address, you can still submit a request using a paystub or other proof of employment or affiliation.



  5. How long will it take for my account to be updated or my discount to be applied?

    After your employment status is confirmed, please allow 1 to 2 billing cycles for any discount updates to appear on your monthly bill.

    If you submitted a paystub or other proof of employment, it may take up to 10 days to review and process your submission. If confirmed, the discount will appear in 1 to 2 billing cycles following confirmation.

    You can track the status of any recent validation submission online, by going to Check My Submission Status and entering your Mobile Number and Billing Zip Code or your Tracking Number.



  6. I didn’t receive the confirmation email for my validation. What should I do?

    If you don't receive the confirmation email, please try the following:

    • Check your spam folder.
    • Check your email application's antivirus settings.
    • Check with your IT administrator about your network's firewall settings.
    • Re-enter your work email address at www.verizonwireless.com/discounts.
    • You can also upload a legible copy of a recent paystub or a legible copy of other proof of your employment by going to www.verizonwireless.com/discounts.


  7. I want to validate online using a paystub or other proof of employment or affiliation. How do I get a digital copy of my paystub or other proof of employment or affiliation?

    Many companies provide electronic copies of paystubs or other forms of proof of employment or affiliation. You can also use your smartphone's camera, a regular digital camera or scanner to create a digital copy of your paystub or other proof of employment or affiliation. Your document must be in one of the following formats and less than 5 MB:

    • GIF
    • JPEG
    • JPG
    • PNG
    • PDF
    • TIF

    The paystub or other proof of employment or affiliation should not be more than 60 days old. Your name, company or organization name and date must be legible on the image you upload.

    Please black out the following sensitive personal information:

    • Salary
    • Tax amounts
    • Banking information
    • Social Security Number
    • Employee ID Number

    Note: If your employer does not provide a physical paystub, you can submit an electronic direct deposit slip for validation. Just save the document in one of the formats detailed above.



  8. I submitted my employment, affiliation, military or veteran validation. How do I check the status of my request?

    You can track the status of any recent validation submission online, by going to Check My Submission Status and entering your mobile number and billing ZIP code, or your Tracking Number.



  9. I received a notification that my employment or affiliation was validated, but I lost it. What do I do?

    You can still check your status online. Go to Check My Submission Status and enter your mobile number and billing ZIP code if you don t have your notification or your Tracking Number.



  10. I received a notification that my employment or affiliation wasn’t validated. What do I do?

    The notification you received has instructions specific to your submission. Please follow the instructions on the notification and resubmit your validation submission if needed.



  11. I’ve changed employers or affiliation. Can I submit a discount request through the same process I used previously to update my employer or affiliation?

    Yes, if you've changed employers and your new employer has an agreement with Verizon Wireless, you're encouraged to update your employment affiliation.



  12. Can Verizon Wireless contact my employer or organization to verify my employment or affiliation status?

    No, to prevent delays, we request that you verify your employment directly with us. You can do so online by going to www.verizonwireless.com/discounts.



  13. Do I need to submit separate validation forms for each mobile number on my account?

    No, you only need to submit one form in your name to validate employment for your entire account.



  14. What do I do if I get the prompts asking if I want to submit a manual review request, move my discount or continue uploading a paystub?

    The work email address you submitted may have been used in a previous discount request with another account. Employment validation can only be processed on one account per work email address.

    • By requesting a manual review, we'll look at your history and determine if this work email address is eligible for validating your employment for the account you submitted.
    • If you'd like to move your discount, the discount will be removed from the original account you used your work email address on, and moved to the new account you submitted in your current request.
    • You can continue to request the discount be added to another account by submitting a paystub or other proof of employment or affiliation.


  15. What happens if I request a manual review?

    We'll review your work email address to determine if it can be used as part of your recent submission. If we determine the email address can be used, we'll add the discount.

    If you have more than one account to which a discount is applied, the discount may be removed from that account as a result of the manual review request.



  16. What happens if I request to move the discount?

    If the original account and the account you recently submitted are both under your name, the discount will be moved to the account you submitted with your recent request and removed from the original account.



  17. Can I submit a paystub or other form of proof of employment or affiliation instead of asking for a manual review or to move my discount?

    Yes. If you'd rather submit a paystub or other form of proof of employment or affiliation, you can use the Validate by Paystub option, which is on the screen prompts screen for manual review or to move the discount. You can also go directly to www.verizonwireless.com/discounts and upload your document using the Validate by Paystub option.

  1. Does my employer or organization need to have an agreement with Verizon Wireless?

    Yes. Verizon Wireless offers discounts on wireless products and services to employees of, or people affiliated with, organizations that have an agreement for wireless service with Verizon Wireless.



  2. I’m not a Verizon Wireless customer yet. How do I find out if I’m eligible for a discount through my employer or affiliation with an organization?

    To see if you qualify for a discount go to www.verizonwireless.com/discounts and enter your work email address in the section labeled Not Yet a Verizon Customer.

    1. A confirmation email will be sent to your work email address.
    2. Once received, click Shop Now in the email to sign up for Verizon Wireless service.
    3. The Shop Now link must be accessed within 72 hours. If the link has expired, please restart this process to resubmit.


    If you don t have a work email address, once you ve signed up for service, or as part of signing up for service, you can submit a work paystub within the last 60 days or other proof of employment or affiliation and we ll review your discount qualifications.

  3. My employer or organization is offering the discount. Does the account need to be in my name?

    Yes. The account must be in your name if it is your employer or organization offering the discount. If the account is in the name of another family member, friend or significant other, you ll need to complete an Assumption of Liability to transfer the account into your name to be eligible to receive the discount.



  4. Will the employee discount change or extend my current contract?

    No, adding an employee discount won't extend or change your current Verizon Wireless contract.



  5. I submitted my validation request and was placed on the wrong discount. What do I do?

    If you've completed your validation using a work email address, please check your work email address and resubmit through www.verizonwireless.com/discounts.

    If you've completed your validation using a paystub, please contact our Employment Validation Customer Service Center.

  6. I’ve validated my employment or affiliation. Why am I not getting a discount?

    If you've received confirmation that you've been validated, you may be on a plan that is not eligible for a discount. If you change to an eligible plan, you'll automatically be set up to receive a discount.

  7. I received my bill and my discount was removed. What do I do?

    Your discount may have been removed because we were unable to validate your employment.

    Over the past 60 days, you should have received notices from us requesting validation. This was to ensure that you'd continue to receive your monthly discount through your employer or your affiliation with an organization that has an agreement with Verizon Wireless. Please validate your employment so we can reapply your discount.

    If you've changed your employer or your affiliation, you may still be eligible for a discount through your new employer or organization. We encourage you to go through the validation process using your new employer's information.



  8. I'm no longer eligible to receive a discount and am looking for a lower cost plan. What are my options?

    We offer plan options to meet a variety of usage and budget needs. You can explore all the options on our Plans page. When you're ready to change your plan, go to the Change Your Plan page in My Verizon.
