  5. How can I get the Verizon 4G LTE Broadband Router?

    You can get this high-speed Internet service any of the following ways:

    • Order online
    1. Find out if your address qualifies for service:

      1. Go to our Coverage Locator page.
      2. Enter your Street Address and City, State in the appropriate fields and click Search
      3. Click 4G LTE Data Coverage.
      4. Click Refresh Map.
      5. Verify that you’re in an area that has 4G LTE service.

    2. If your address is in a Verizon 4G LTE coverage area, go to the Verizon 4G LTE Broadband Router shopping page.

    You can get free 2-day shipping when you order online. If you place your order before 4:30 PM local time, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays),* your order will be delivered in two business days.

    Orders placed after 4:30 PM on Friday or over the weekend will be delivered on Wednesday.

  9. How far away can I be from the Verizon 4G LTE Broadband Router while connecting to it over Wi-Fi?

    Actual range and speeds will vary based on the radio frequency conditions and obstructions within your home. Most devices should be able to connect within 150 feet of the router and may be able to connect at up to 300 feet unobstructed.

  10. Will I be able to choose where the Verizon 4G LTE Broadband Router is placed in my home?

    Yes, you can place your router anywhere in your home where you have access to an AC power outlet. However for optimal Wi-Fi signal reception, we recommend placing the router closest to the center of where you would be using the device the most.  For the best 4G LTE signal coverage, we recommend you placing it nearest a window.

  1. How do I install and activate my Verizon 4G LTE Broadband Router?

    Please refer to the Quick Start Guide (PDF*) that was provided with your device for installation steps. Activation will automatically begin when the SIM card is inserted and the router is turned on.

    Once the activation is complete, you can connect to the unique Wi-Fi Network Name (SSID) that came with your router using the password provided on the router label. Or you can use the Push ‘N’ Connect (WPS) button.

  2. How do I ensure that I’m receiving a strong 4G LTE signal for my Verizon 4G LTE Broadband Router?

    To ensure you’re receiving a strong 4G LTE signal:

    1. Check 4G LTE coverage for your area.

      1. Visit our Coverage Locator.
      2. Enter the address where the router will be located and click Search
      3. Click 4G LTE Data Coverage and click Refresh Map.

        Note: The Verizon 4G LTE Broadband Router is a data-only 4G LTE device. You must have 4G LTE service to use it.

    2. Check the color of the signal quality indicator light on the router.

      In a strong 4G LTE coverage area, the signal quality indicator light will be solid blue or solid green.

      • If the signal quality light is amber: The device may not be receiving a very strong signal. We recommend that you move the router to a location nearest a window and recheck the signal.  Also, adjust the external antennas that came with the unit so that they are at 45-degree angles from each other.

      • If the signal quality indicator light is off:

        1. Turn the router off.

        2. Remove the SIM card and then reinsert the SIM card (ensure it is inserted correctly). For detailed instructions on how to do this, refer to your User Guide.

        3. Turn the router on and wait for it to restart.

        4. Recheck the signal quality indicator light.

    If the 4G LTE and/or Internet indicator light is still not on after these steps, you may need to contact Customer Service at (800) 922-0204. You’ll need to enter the mobile number associated with the router at the time of purchase, which can be found on your order receipt.

  3. How do I connect my devices to my Verizon 4G LTE Broadband Router?

    You can connect your devices to your router with Wi-Fi or with an Ethernet cable.

    • Connect with Wi-Fi

      There are two methods of connecting your router to your Wi-Fi network:

      • Push ‘N’ Connect  (also known as WPS or Wi-Fi Protected Setup)

        1. Press the Push ‘N’ Connect/WPS button on the front of the router.
        2. On your mobile device, go to the connection manager and select the WPS connection option.
        3. If prompted for a WPS PIN, enter in the WPS PIN found on the label on the back of the router.

      • Wi-Fi Network Name and password

        Note: Your Verizon 4G LTE Broadband Router comes with a unique Wi-Fi Network Name (SSID) and password located on a label on the router.

        1. Ensure that your device supports Wi-Fi and that it's enabled.
        2. Using the device’s wireless connection manager, connect to the router using the SSID and password information provided. 

    • Connect with an Ethernet cable 

      1. Insert one end of an Ethernet cable into the yellow Ethernet port on the back of the router.  
      2. Insert the other end of the cable into your device, such as a laptop or gaming console.

  4. How do I monitor and manage data usage?

    You can monitor and manage your data usage and alerts  online through My Verizon.

    You can also manage your data usage by going to the Traffic Meter feature, after signing in to your router's Web User Interface.

  5. Is my Verizon 4G LTE Broadband Router secure?

    Yes, the router Wi-Fi connection has been secured by default using the WPA encryption protocol. Your Wi-Fi Network Name (SSID) and password have been printed on a label on the back of your router. You can also change the password or security type if necessary.

  6. How do I access and configure advanced settings on my Verizon 4G LTE Broadband Router?

    Your router is designed to work without the need to configure any advanced settings. However, should you need to modify any of the router settings, you can access the Web User Interface by connecting to the router with Wi-Fi or by an Ethernet cable.

  1. My wireless devices show a weak connection or the router name doesn’t appear when scanning for Wi-Fi networks. How do I improve my Wi-Fi signal reception on my Verizon 4G LTE Broadband Router?

    If the router doesn’t appear when you scan for Wi-Fi networks:

    1. See if the Wi-Fi light  on the router is turned off.
    2. If off, press the Wi-Fi Radio button on the front of the router to turn the radio back on.

    If you are able to connect, but are showing a weak connection, here are some tips on how to improve your Wi-Fi signal reception:

    • Have your computer or other devices within 150 feet of the router when you try to connect.

    • Reduce the number of building obstructions and other interferences between your router and wireless device. Such things as walls, microwaves and cordless phones can contribute to poor Wi-Fi coverage.

    • In some cases, you may need to install a Wi-Fi range extender (sold separately) to improve the Wi-Fi coverage.

  2. I’m having trouble connecting to the Internet with my Verizon 4G LTE Broadband Router. What should I do?

    Follow these steps to check your network connection:

    1. Confirm that the 4G LTE Network light is on. If it’s not, ensure that you have strong coverage in your area.

    2. Confirm that your device is connected to the 4G LTE Network.

      1. Sign in to your router.
      2. From the maintenance section, click Router Status.
      3. Click Connection Status.

        • If the status is “No SIM card detected”

          1. Ensure that the SIM Card is inserted.

        • If the status doesn’t show “Connected”:

          1. Turn the router off by pressing the Power button.
          2. Then press the Power button again to turn the router back on.
          3. Wait several minutes for the device to turn on and the LTE Signal light to appear.
          4. Try your connection again.

    If you’re still unable to connect after completing these steps, please contact Customer Service at (800) 922-0204. You’ll need to enter the mobile number associated with the router at the time of purchase, which can be found on your order receipt.

  3. Why doesn’t the Internet Port light come on, even though I inserted the SIM card and turned on the Verizon 4G LTE Broadband Router?

    If the Internet Port light didn’t come on:

    1. Make sure that the SIM card you received with your router was inserted correctly.

      Note: You must use the SIM card you received with the router. SIM cards from other devices may not be compatible with the router.
    2. Verify that the 4G LTE light and the Signal Quality light are on. If they aren’t, check for coverage issues or move the device to a different location to improve your signal.

  4. I’m unable to connect my wireless devices to my Verizon 4G LTE Broadband Router or I am receiving authentication errors. What should I do?

    Ensure that you’re connecting to the correct Wi-Fi Network Name (SSID) and using the correct password. The default router SSID name and password are located on the label on the back of the router.

    If you’ve changed the default SSID or password, sign in to the router and find that information in the Security Options under the Wi-Fi Settings screen.

    Refer to your wireless device’s documentation on how to connect to a Wi-Fi network.
