Trade-In Program FAQs
  1. What is the Trade-In Program?

The Trade-In program provides you the option to recycle and trade in your old device and receive a Verizon Wireless gift card for the appraised value of the old device, or you can choose to donate your old device to HopeLine.®

For more information about trading in and recycling your old device, watch our Recycle, Repurpose, Reward video.

  2. How does the Trade-In Program work?

By telling us the manufacturer, model and condition of your device, we can appraise its value.  Then we'll send you a self-addressed, prepaid envelope. Once you receive the envelope, return the device within 30 days, and we’ll send you a Verizon Wireless electronic gift card for the appraised value.

  3. What is my submission ID and where can I find it?

Your submission ID is the confirmation number you receive once you complete your online submission to trade in your device. You'll need to know your submission ID to check the status of your trade-in.

You can find your submission ID in the confirmation email you received after you completed your online submission. The email contains your submission ID, as well as important information about how to ship your device.

  7. Should I send you my battery, charger and other accessories when I send my device to the Trade-In Program?

  10. I got an email stating I would be receiving less credit than I expected from the Trade-In program. Why?

When we receive your device, we check to ensure it matches the information you provided during the online submission. If the device doesn’t match the description or if it wasn’t submitted within 30 days, you may receive less than the appraised value we indicated during your online submission. Additionally, if you claimed a promotion but the device that you sent us is not eligible for the promotion, we will provide you with the trade-in value for the device, excluding the promotion. For further information, please see our Terms & Conditions.
