  1. Do I use my voice minutes when I download Get It Now® applications?

    Depending on your price plan, either Airtime or Megabyte usage charges will apply. The minutes or megabytes you use browsing in the Get It Now shop for an application and downloading applications are applied to your monthly usage. If you are on a price plan that bills data usage as airtime and you exceed your allowance minutes while browsing and downloading, you will be charged the same rate as voice minutes over your airtime allowance. If you are on a price plan that bills data usage as megabytes, you will be charged for megabyte usage in accordance with your price plan.

  2. How long does it take to download applications through Get It Now®?

    Most applications take approximately one minute or .24 Megabytes to download. Application download times and megabytes used will vary based on the application size.

  3. Do I use Airtime or Megabytes when I'm using an application?

    Not always. Some applications do not incur airtime or megabyte charges during usage. However, there are some applications that will require your phone to make a network connection for purposes such as retrieving and posting high scores, updating daily horoscopes or playing games against other subscribers. In these instances airtime or megabyte charges are incurred. Applications that incur airtime or megabyte charges during use are denoted in the description of the application on Get It Now®.

  4. Do I use Airtime or Megabytes when I'm removing an application?

    Applications that were downloaded as subscriptions will be charged airtime or megabytes while being removed (canceled). Applications that were downloaded as purchases do not incur airtime or megabyte charges during removal from the handset.

    Get It Now is a technology and service that allows you to download and use applications on your Verizon Wireless Get It Now-enabled phone. For example, you can quickly and easily download ringtones, games, emails, directions, instant messages and more to your phone and use them right on your handset. It is a new enhancement to wireless technology.

  4. Can I use Get It Now® anywhere in the Verizon Wireless network? Even when roaming?

    Get It Now usage and downloading is available in the U.S., wherever your handset can receive a signal on the Verizon Wireless network (including roaming). If your downloaded Get It Now application does not require a network connection, you can use your application anywhere.

  5. Can I receive a call when I am downloading an application with Get It Now®?

    While you're downloading an application, incoming calls will automatically be forwarded over to your voicemail if you have it. If you do not have voicemail, the caller will receive a busy signal. Downloading will not be interrupted.

  6. Can I receive a call when I am using an application?

    While using an application that does not require a network connection, you may answer the call. The incoming call will automatically pause the application. Once your call is complete, you have the option to resume using the application. You won't have to miss a call.

  7. Can I buy games online?

    Now you can start the purchase of a game from the website, then immediately complete your purchase from your phone. When you find a game you want to buy, click on the game's title, which will take you to a page of additional details. From the game details page, select a price plan and click on the "Send to Phone" button. A shortcut for that game will be sent to your phone along with instructions for completing your purchase. Your account will not be charged until you successfully download the game using your phone.

  8. Is Get It Now® available on an Alltel phone?

    No, Get It Now is only available on select Verizon Wireless phones. You may upgrade your phone at any time or access the Alltel/Axcess Shop through your Alltel phone.

    It will depend on the size of the application and the storage capabilities of your phone.

  2. Can I change my applications?

    Yes, you can change them at any time. Remove old ones, add new ones; you can personalize your phone any way you wish. Unused application usage will be lost.

  3. What happens to my Get It Now® apps if I get a new phone?

    Downloaded apps may only be used on the phone they were downloaded to. When you upgrade to a new phone, you’ll have to repurchase and re-download any apps that you had downloaded onto your previous phone (even if they were downloaded as part of an unlimited or long-term agreement).

  4. What's the difference between Disable and Remove Application?

    Disabling an application removes the application from memory, but retains the usage and purchase information. If you only need to free up some memory but want to be able to access the application at a later time, use Disable. To restore a disabled application, just go to "Options," select the application and click "Restore." If your application is a subscription, you continue to be charged the recurring subscription fee while an application is disabled.

    Removing an application deletes it completely from your phone's memory - in order to restore it, you'd have to download it and pay for it again. Airtime or Megabyte charges (depending on your price plan) apply while removing a subscription application. If you remove a wallpaper application from your handset you may delete all content that was downloaded through that wallpaper application that is stored on your handset. In order to retain the wallpaper for any such application, you must disable rather than remove the wallpaper application.

    There is no monthly fee to use Get It Now. You pay per application at the time of download. Each application has specific pricing. Airtime or Megabyte charges (depending on your price plan) apply while browsing for and downloading applications on your phone.   2. What are the different pricing options for Get It Now® applications?

    The pricing options for Get It Now apps vary. Unlimited use only applies to the original device that the app is downloaded to. Some of the most common options include:

    1. Demo - Try the application for free for a set number of uses (1-5), a predetermined time of use (1-10 minutes), or and elapsed time on the handset (1-24 hours).
    2. Subscription - Unlimited use of the application with an associated recurring fee.
    3. Purchase- Applications billed on 1 of 4 following price models:  
      • Number of uses - use the application a specific number of times or unlimited use.
      • Expiration date - use the application until a specified date/time.
      • Number of days - use the application for a fixed number of days.
      • Elapsed time - use the application for a fixed number of minutes.

  3. How do Get It Now® downloads appear on my bill?

    Get It Now downloads are distinguished as a data call to the mobile number 777-000-0000. Currently the only way to differentiate between a Get It Now session and a Mobile Web session is to match the date of the airtime charge to the date of the download displayed in the Service Charges and Credits section of the bill.

  4. How do I end the recurring monthly charges for a Get It Now® application?

    To disable/remove applications on our more popular handsets, follow the instructions below:

    1. Press the left soft key for "Menu."
    2. Select "Get It Now" (5).
    3. Select "Get Apps" (1).
    4. Select "Settings."
    5. Select "Manage Apps."
    6. Select the application that you wish to disable or remove by pressing the "OK" button.
    7. Choose "Cancel Subscription" or "Remove."

     LG VX4400

    1. Press the left soft key for "Menu."
    2. Select "Get It Now" (5).
    3. Select "Get Apps" (1).
    4. Select the shopping cart icon.
    5. Select "Options."
    6. Select the application that you wish to disable or remove by pressing the "OK" button.

  1. How do I customize the ringtones from Get It Now® to my handset?

    Most handsets come with a number of default selections of ringtones. Some customers prefer to customize their handset with popular music, custom ringtones, and other sounds through Get It Now. Downloading and saving custom ringtones is a three-step process:

    1. Download the appropriate credit from the Get It Now application. For an updated list of what ringtone applications are available for download on your handset, visit www.verizonwireless.com/getitnow.
    2. Find and select the desired tone.
    3. Save the new tone as the ringer on the handset.

    Below are specific instructions on how to download custom ringtones on our most popular handsets. Please note the actual steps may vary from handset to handset, but the basic process is the same.

    1. Access the "Get It Now" shopping menu on the handset.
    2. Select "Get Tones."
    3. Select the desired ringtone application.
    4. Select the desired pricing option.
    5. When finished downloading the chosen credits or uses, you will receive the message "App installed successfully. Would you like to run it now?" Select "Yes."
    6. You are now able to search through the application to locate the specific tone you wish to download. After selecting the desired tone, it will be downloaded to the handset and saved to the local memory on the handset.
    7. Access the appropriate menu on the handset to change the ringer and select the downloaded ringtone as the default ringer.

  2. What does the word "uses" mean when I'm choosing the pricing options for ringtones in Get It Now®?

    Some applications will refer to a number of "uses" when selecting pricing options. The word "uses" is synonymous with credits. The number of credits required for each ringtone will vary, but it's only a one-time cost to purchase a ringtone. Once you have downloaded the ringtone to the handset it becomes a part of the local memory on the handset. You can keep the ringtone indefinitely on that handset without incurring any other charges.

  3. How can I find a particular song or songs from a particular artist to download?

    The ringtone applications from Get It Now® allow you to search through songs and artists in the library. Many Get It Now ringtone applications also have corresponding websites that allow you to browse and preview their ringtone library from your computer.   4. Can I download ringtones from other websites directly to my handset?

    No. The ringtone applications offered through Get It Now® have approved tones that have been optimized for use on the Verizon Wireless network. Other websites offer ringtones that may work, but we are unable to provide assistance to customers using those services.

  5. How do I access the VZW Tones application from my phone?

    • Go to your Phone's Main Menu (select "Menu" or the menu icon) then select "Media Center" or "Get It Now."
    • Select "Music & Tones" or "Get Tunes & Tones" then "Get New Ringtones."
    • If "VZW Tones" doesn't already appear, select "Get New Applications," then choose "VZW Tones" from the list.

  1. Can I use a Verizon Wireless game on a trial basis before I purchase it?

    Occasionally, Verizon offers “demo” versions of some games. When available, downloading a demo version allows you to use games on a trial basis at no charge; these demos have an expiration date based on one of the following criteria: number of uses (1-5), expiration date, number of days or elapsed time (1-24 hrs.). Note: Airtime charges apply for selection, download and any airtime generated by the application.

  2. What's the difference between "subscription" and "unlimited"?

      Purchasing a “subscription” provides access to a game for a limited period of time with billing reoccurring on a daily, monthly or annual basis depending on the specific game.

      The Unlimited option provides access whenever and however long you wish to play the game for a one-time fee. This unlimited access applies only to the device you download the app to.
