  4. How do I send international text and multimedia messages?

Sending an international message is similar to sending a message to someone in the US. However, you may need to enter a few extra numbers before the mobile number, depending on which country the number is associated with.

Go to our International Messaging page and select a country from the dropdown menu for sending instructions. You’ll also see the calling instructions and rates for calls and messages when you select a country.

For example, if you want to message a number in France:

    1. Enter 011, which indicates you’re messaging outside the US.
    2. Enter France’s country code, 33.
    3. Enter the local 9-digit phone number.
    4. Compose and send your message.

Note: If you have The MORE Everything Plan, unlimited International Messaging is included. To see if you have The MORE Everything Plan, sign in to My Verizon.
