Total Equipment Coverage*


Total Equipment Coverage combines the benefits of Asurion’s Wireless Phone Protection and the Verizon Wireless Extended Warranty program. If your device or covered accessories are lost, stolen or damaged; or your device experiences a mechanical or electrical defect after the manufacturer’s warranty expires, you’re protected.
  • Basic phones
    • $8/month per covered phone
    • $45 non-refundable deductible per approved claim for devices lost, stolen, or damaged
    • Two replacements in a 12-month period with an equipment maximum of $400/claim (in New York, two claims per policy year)
  • Smartphones (except Apple® iPhone®)
    • $8/month per covered device
    • $99 non-refundable deductible per approved claim for devices lost, stolen, or damaged
    • Two replacements in a 12-month period with an equipment maximum of $1500 per claim (in New York, two claims per policy year)
  • Tablets
    • $9.99/month per covered device
    • $45-149 non-refundable deductible per approved claim for devices lost, stolen, or damaged
    • Two replacements in a 12-month period with an equipment maximum of $1500 per claim (in New York, two claims per policy year)
  • iPhone® and Other Devices
    • $9.99/month per covered device
    • $99 non-refundable deductible (iPhone 4 8GB)
    • $169 non-refundable deductible (iPhone 4 16GB, iPhone 4S 16GB, iPhone 5 8GB and iPhone 5 16GB) per approved claim for devices lost, stolen, or damaged
    • $199 non-refundable deductible (iPhone 4 32GB, iPhone 4S 32GB, iPhone 4S 64GB, iPhone 5 32GB and iPhone 5 64GB) per approved claim for devices lost, stolen, or damaged
    • Two replacements in a 12-month period with an equipment maximum of $1500 per claim (in New York, two claims per policy year)

Replacement devices may be remanufactured equipment. If the same model is not available, a comparable model will be provided. You may cancel at any time and receive a prorated refund of your monthly fee.

To prevent the permanent loss of contacts, the use of Backup Assistant or Verizon Cloud is strongly recommended.

Asurion Wireless Phone Protection

Asurion is a third-party licensed insurance agency who offers insurance coverage for your mobile device and certain standard accessories. If you have Wireless Phone Protection and your device is lost, stolen or accidentally damaged (including liquid and physical damage), you may file your claim with the Asurion within 60 days of the incident and the device will be replaced upon claim approval. Asurion Wireless Phone Protection is part of Total Equipment Coverage and is also sold separately.

Claim Limits: Two Claims in a 12-month period. (In New York, Two claim limit is per policy year).

Asurion may fulfill claims with new or remanufactured equipment. In general, claims are fulfilled with the same make and model you claim. If this isn't possible, a like-kind make and model will be substituted. Color, feature and accessory compatibility are not guaranteed.

Cancellation Policy: You may cancel your coverage at any time and receive a pro-rated refund of your unused premium.

Extended Warranty

Extended Warranty provides protection against device defects after the manufacturer’s warranty expires. You'll receive a new or Certified Like-New Replacement of the same or comparable model. The monthly cost is $3/device. Extended Warranty is part of the Total Equipment Coverage bundle and is also sold separately.

How to Get It

For any of these programs, you must sign up within 30 days of one of the following:
  • Opening a new account with a new device
  • Purchasing a new device with a new plan contract

How to Use It

If your device is damaged or defective:
Call (866) 406-5154 from any phone other than the one experiencing difficulties (this call is toll- free from a landline). With Total Mobile Protection, Total Equipment Coverage and Extended Warranty, defective devices after the manufacturer’s warranty will be replaced for free with a Certified Like-New Replacement.

If your device is lost or stolen:
  1. Suspend your service in My Verizon or by calling (800) 922-0204 (from any phone).
  2. File an insurance claim online (the fastest and easiest way) or by calling Asurion Customer Care at (888) 881-2622.

Important Information

Cost per Month and Individual Service Availability. Total Mobile Protection ($10/mo) is a combination of multiple products, each of which is available separately: Wireless Phone Protection $5.18/mo ($8.18/mo iPhone®) & Tablets); Extended Warranty $3/mo; and Tech Coach $7/mo. For Phones and Advanced Devices, Wireless Phone Protection plus Extended Warranty is available for $8/mo ($9.99/mo iPhone®) & Tablets).  Total Equipment Coverage and Extended Warranty are not available in Florida. Florida customers receive extended warranty coverage under the Asurion Wireless Phone Protection policy.
Applicability and Amount of Deductible. For Wireless Phone Protection claims, deductibles apply. Examples of deductibles include $49 for a basic phone (e.g., Samsung Gusto), $99 for advanced devices, including most smartphones (e.g., Samsung Galaxy S4), $99-$199 for iPhone®, and $45-149 for tablets.  For a full list of deductibles click here http://phoneclaim.com/verizon/deductible.

Covered and Replacement Equipment. If your device is lost, stolen or damaged your accessories are covered too – one: standard battery, standard car charger, standard case, standard home charger and standard earbud. It is our goal to provide you with a replacement device that is the same color and has the same features, but this cannot be guaranteed. If the same make and model you claim is not available, a similar make and model will be substituted. Your replacement device could be new or remanufactured. You may also receive generic accessories with lost, stolen or damaged claims.
Cancellation Policy. Change your mind? You can cancel your coverage at any time and receive a pro-rated refund of your monthly fee.
