Backup Assistant℠

Backup Assistant saves a copy of your device's address book to a secure website. If your device is lost, stolen, damaged or replaced, Backup Assistant restores your saved address book to a new device wirelessly. This service is for basic phones and some older smartphones and tablets.

With Backup Assistant you can:

  • Schedule daily backups
  • Save your information manually or automatically
  • Sign in to your Backup Assistant online account and get full access to your address book
  • View, print, add, delete and edit contacts online, and send the changes to your device with one click
Note: To see if your device is compatible with Backup Assistant, refer to the Verify If Your Device Is Compatible section of the How to Use Guide: Backup Assistant.

For newer devices: Visit the Verizon Cloud website or Backup Assistant Plus website to see which service your device is compatible with.

How to Get It

To use Backup Assistant, you must have a Backup Assistant compatible device. If your device isn’t compatible with Backup Assistant, visit the Verizon Cloud website or Backup Assistant Plus website to see which service is compatible with your device.

How to Use It

There are three main steps involved in using Backup Assistant:

  1. Create an account.
  2. Set a schedule for automatically backing up your contacts (e.g., daily, weekly, etc.).
  3. Complete your first backup.
