Watch this video to learn how to switch your device with another person on your account.
How to Swap Phones on your Account
Verizon makes it easy to Switch Devices with another line on your account. This will ensure each person will keep their phone number and plan, but will have the swapped device.
First, sign into My Verizon, then select "Activate or Switch device" from the left hand Navigation, under "Manage My Device." Next choose the Device that you want to switch with another device, and click next.
You'll need to select "Switch Device" from the options on the page, and then select the phone number from the other lines on your account that you want to switch with from the drop down menu. When you've made your selection, click "Next."
For the security of your account, you will be prompted to authorize the activation. Select which device you'd like to receive the Online Authorization Code, and then click "Text me the code." Once you receive the code, enter it and click next.
You'll then get the option to back up your contacts. Depending on your device you'll either see an option to run Backup Assistant, or click to view instructions to backup from your device. You'll want to do this for both devices. Once complete, click "Next."
There's a chance that when you switch devices, the current plan that each device is on may not be compatible. If this is the case, you'll get prompted to change your plan.
Review any changes you've made. Note that if you have a SIM enabled device, the devices will not be switched until you have manually switched your SIM cards. Click "Transfer SIM" to continue and view instructions on how to switch your SIM cards.
It's important that you follow the next steps that are displayed on the page to ensure your devices are properly activated. These instructions will guide you based on the type of device that you're activating. Once your switch is complete, don't forget to restore your contacts.
