Activating Your New iPad® and iPad Mini with Wi-Fi® + Cellular

Your iPad comes with a pre-installed 4G LTE SIM card. If you are using your existing Verizon Wireless 4G LTE SIM card, replace the SIM card that came with your new iPad. You may save the pre-installed SIM card for future use. See the SIM Card Instructions section below.

If you would like to access content from other Apple® devices on your new iPad, sync them with iTunes® or create a backup with iCloud® before turning on your new iPad.

Prepaid customers: The instructions in this guide are for customers with a standard monthly plan. If you would like to sign up for a prepaid plan, please refer to the Activating Your New iPad for Prepaid Customers guide.

Step 1: Turn on your new iPad and follow the onscreen Setup Assistant.

 Setup Assistant will start automatically.

Step 2: Activate your new iPad.
